1/ 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 - More Trouble for Trump Connected Lawyer. NYT reports that a lawyer for Trump provided the DOJ with a written statement that all docs marked classified were returned. This could have disastrous ramifications for the attorney. What else has happened to lawyers...
2/ ...connected to Trump?
Rudy Giuliani. The FBI raided Rudy over a year ago and seized 18 devices. Rudy's NY bar license is suspended. As for his DC license, a disbarment hearing is scheduled for Oct. He's also been subpoenad in the Fani Willis Georgia criminal investigation.
3/ Jeffrey Clark. Authorities recently searched Clark's home while he stood outside in a dress shirt and drawers. Clark was Trump's DOJ stooge who championed false claims of election fraud. Others in DOJ said there would be mass resignations if Trump installed Clark at the top.
4/ Lin Wood. Infamously called for the execution of Mike Pence. He's been sanctioned for election litigation and referred by a federal judge for potential disbarment. The Georgia State Bar filed a 1600 page complaint against him & says Wood must undergo a mental health exam.
5/ Sidney Powell. Was at the 'UNHINGED' West Wing meeting eve of J6. A Powell connected election fundraising entity is under criminal investigation. Sanctioned for election litigation, referred by federal judge for potential disbarment. The Texas Bar commenced a case against her.
6/ Michael Cohen. In 2018, Trump's ex-lawyer & fixer was sentenced to 3 years in prison for, among other things, covering up Trump's 'dirty deeds', including funneling payments to silence 2 women who said they had affairs w/ Trump. Cohen now speaks out against his former client.
7/ Jenna Ellis. Subpoenad by the J6 Comittee and is subject of a complaint to the Colorado State Bar seeking her disbarment.
8/ These lawyers have had legal, ethical and/or criminal issues related to Trump.

In addition, as is well documented, several felons have been connected to Trump.

So Terrence Bradley - Nathan Wade's divorce lawyer - worked hand in hand with Trumpian lawyer Ashleigh Merchant for months to get Fani Willis and Wade. And Merchant conveniently cherry-picked from hundreds of now revealed text messages. Interesting.

Now we know why Bradley didn't want to take the stand. He was secretly working to screw over his former client and law partner, as well as Willis . And both he and Merchant agreed she would keep his name and gossip out of it, but then Merchant subpoenaed him anyway. Unbelievable.
And a really telling revelation from the texts - that should be game over - is Bradley and Merchant specifically discussed getting someone to submit a sworn affidavit which Merchant could use in her effort to disqualify Willis. They came up w/ no one. Instead she relied on gossip

JUST IN: :Jack Smith says again Trump DC trial should not be televised. It is a scathing 4-page filing worth a read. A few nuggets

* 'He desires instead to create a carnival atmosphere from which he hopes to profit by distracting'.
* Although the defendant proclaims that his goal is for the American public to watch the proceedings in this case, he has consistently made clear his desire to delay the trial in this case or to ensure that one does not happen at all.'
* 'If the defendant sought sunlight as he claims, he should welcome the opportunity to put the Govt. to its proof at trial. Instead...he will continue to attempt to avoid answering for his criminal conduct in the courtroom while...publicly grandstanding on the Court's docket.'

George Santos tells a federal court he'd rather be locked up than release the identities of the suretors of his $500K bond. He says if the identities are revealed 'the suretors are likely to suffer great distress, may lose their jobs, and God forbid, may suffer physical injury.'

1/ BOOM - Former GOP officials file friend of the court brief with the 11th Circuit saying Judge Cannon got it wrong. The TOC reflects the core arguments, including that an ex-President is entitled to no greater protection under the law than any other citizen.
2/ A friend of the court brief is an 'amicus' brief. It's filed by people who are not a party to the case - not the DOJ, not Trump - who believe they have an interest in the court's decision. So they ask a court - here the 11th Circuit - to also consider their legal arguments.
3/ The 'friends of the court' or 'Amici' here are: Ex-federal & state officials Donald Ayer, John Bellinger III, Gregory Brower, John Farmer Jr., Stuart Gerson,Peter Keisler, Alan Charles Raul, Olivia Troye, William F. Weld, and Christine Todd Whitman. Short bios below.
