Immer mehr Meldungen von verbalen (manchmal nicht nur verbalen) Übergriffe russischstämmiger Extremisten auf Ukrainer und Geflüchtete aus der Ukraine. Bei einem Vorfall war ich selbst vor Ort, leider nach Eintreffen der Polizei sofort eine #FalseBalance "das geht uns nix an" 🧵
"das hat mit Österreich nix zu tun" "die Diskussionen brauchen wir hier nicht" der russische Provokateur konnte Deutsch. Auf meine Aussage, dass ja nicht die Ukraine Russland angegriffen hat, sondern umgekehrt, antwortete ein Beamter: "das kann man so oder so sehen", schockierend
Ich würde mir hier mehr Schulung und Sensibilisierung wünschen, wenn Geflüchtete vor ihren ideologischen Peinigern verbal angegriffen werden, geht es nicht um eine "Meinungsverschiedenheit" @LPDWien
In anderen Worten: wenn ein russischer Kriegsfan einen Flüchtling aus der Ukraine schimpft und dieser schimpft zurück, dann kann man nicht sagen "es haben zwei einfach eine Meinungsverschiedenheit".

Familiar messages, but delivered with quite outrageous fake-stories, not only in Russian state propaganda
It does not even start at school, it starts at the kindergarten already and continues until university.

Russia's neighbourhood policy shows a different picture
Finland🇫🇮 and Sweden🇸🇪: Both countries were not aligned, which did not prevent Russia from violating their airspace several times. 🇷🇺also launched several disinformation campaigns, Finland is now a quite well prepared country regarding disinfo compared to states like Austria 🇦🇹
Speaking about Austria, even if it is not a "neighbour" of Russia at all: Austria was extremly close to Russia since decades, close economic ties, appeasement policy, many politicans embraced Putin. Still Austria was a main target of Russian disinformation and propaganda.

"Ukrainians killed 14.000 civilians in Donbas"? #Factcheck🧵

14.000 people died. More than 10.000 of them were Ukrainian soldiers and Russian fighters. 3.404 civilians died of shelling from both sides. That includes 298 souls from passenger jet MH17, downed by Russian forces
In the last 3 years less than 100 civilians died, around half of them because of landmine-accidents.
2015, for instance, Russian forces tried to conquer Mariupol, they killed 30 civilians on one day.

They tried to expand their territory, but Ukrainian military was able to repel them.

Faktcheck: Haben Ukrainer 2014-2022 "14.000 Zivilisten im Donbas getötet"? Nein! 🧵

Die Zahl bezieht sich auf die insgesamt im Zusammenhang mit dem Krieg getöteten Menschen, also auch über 10.000 ukrainische Soldaten und russ. Kämpfer
3.404 Zivilisten kamen um, beim Beschuss beider Seiten. 298 davon beim Abschuss des Passagierflugzeuges MH17, für den unter anderem der russ. Warlord Igor Girkin angeklagt wurde. In den letzten 3 Jahren starben weniger als 100 Zivilisten, rund die Hälfte davon durch Minenunfälle
Russland hat den Krieg nicht nur finanziert, sondern auch initiiert. Neben Freiwilligen waren auch "Soldaten auf Urlaub" im Einsatz, russische Militärtechnik und Artilleriefeuer

Auch die regelmäßige Leugnung von Kriegsverbrechen findet viele Abnehmer auf Social Media. Ein besonders gravierender Fall war der Raketeneinschlag in das Einkaufszentrum der ukrainischen Stadt Kremenchuk, der viele Todesopfer forderte.🧵

Die Kreml-Lüge, dass die "Amstor Mall" bereits seit März geschlossen gewesen sein soll, lässt sich vielseitig widerlegen: Es gibt Videoaufnahmen und Kassabelege aus der Zeit kurz vor vor dem Einschlag und Geschäfte haben ihre Produkte noch in den Tagen vor dem Einschlag beworben.
Trotzdem wurde diese Desinformation hartnäckig in den Sozialen Medien geteilt, die Existenz der Opfer geleugnet und auf eine “Verschwörung gegen Russland” verwiesen.
