Reactions Trail Obi’s Late-night Meeting With Wike, Mimiko, Others
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, held another meeting with the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and other members of the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday night.
Former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, who shared a photo from the late night meeting on Twitter tagged some of those at the meeting to include Governors Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, former governors of Cross River and Gombe States,
Donald Duke, Ibrahim Dankwambo, former Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke and others.
Reactions have been trailing the laughing photo of the politicians, with many speculating about their plans and the reason for the meeting.
A tweep, Lawrence the Great said, “Your Excellency #Segunmimiko, let it be known to you today 16-08-2023 at this time 7Am, that whatever you are cooking with Peter Obi & these men, Nigerians are ready to cook with you, serve, eat & clear the table.
You are supported. Stand with Nigerians and rewrite bad history.”
Immanuel Okwudir feels that there is definitely something happen considering the frequency of Obi’s visit to Wike.
He said, “Peter Obi has visited Rivers state govt house twice in two months, and you say nothing is cooking? This time he met with some political big shoes expect one. Choke them, press their necks.”
Another tweep, Kas Nwuke, seeing the photo advised Obi to focus on new voices saying, “#PeterObi should be careful with his associations. Not sure what he is doing with #GovernorIkpeazu and #GovAyoFayose. Obi should go out and identify new voices - young and old.’’
For Nnamani Nnamdi, Obi shouldn’t be interacting with the likes of Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu. He said, “Governor Ikpeazu should not be there. #PeterObi should not associate with a failure… Anyway, he's a Nigerian, I understand."
One of the accusers of Manchester City player, Benjamin Mendy, has told the court how the footballer trapped her in a bedroom in his house and raped her.
According to AFP, the accuser recalled that she stayed the night at the player’s house in the village of Mottram St Andrew with a friend of the player and was having a shower when Mendy, who was wearing shorts, walked in on her.
In a recorded interview which was played at Chester Crown court in England, the woman said she considered screaming but thought “there’s no point as he’s in his own territory” adding that she had felt “out of control” during the incident.
Peter Obi Accuses Opposition Of Trolling, Misinformation
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has said that the opposition have adopted the strategy of trolling, spreading misinformation and putting the blame on his party as the 2023 election draws closer.
Obi made this claim via Twitter on Thursday.
He said, “As we approach the official kick off of the 2023 election campaign, it has become evident that the opposition have adopted a negative strategy of trolling and insinuating fake news and
misinformation in the social media space and blaming the Labour Party, its presidential candidate and their supporters of same.
“We remain resolute in our commitment to an issue-based and clean campaign.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his delight at the warm reception, he had received during his trip to his home state of Adamawa.
Sharing photos from a dinner in his hometown, Jada, on Thursday, the former vice president asked for prayers against extra weight.
He tweeted, “I am truly being pampered on this trip to Adamawa with yet another dinner in my hometown, Jada, last night. Pray I don't end up adding extra weight on my return. -AA”

Nollywood actress and producer, Mary Remmy Njoku, on Thursday, tackled married women who praise their husbands whenever they take care of their kids and do chores at home.
The actress and her husband, Jason Njoku, last Friday renewed their marital vows to mark their 10th wedding anniversary.

Blackout: Abah Knocks Electricity Workers' Reason For Strike
Former head of the Bureau for Public Sector Reform, Dr Joe Abah, has knocked the electricity workers for switching off power supply in the country in protest.
He added that he cannot think of any other country where a group of people would switch off power supply.
In a tweet on Thursday, the country director of Development Alternatives Incorporated said,
“I honestly cannot think of any other country where people can go and switch off the power supply because they don’t want to be interviewed before promotion, and they will not be immediately arrested and jailed.'
