Neighbours said they were shocked at the news of his arrest and said that the man and his family are “extremely kind” people. They said that the family has been living in the house for generations and Yaseen was born here.
Mohammed Islam, 48, who runs a mechanic shop opposite the house said that Yaseen is a religious man and a prominent voice in Meena Bazar where he runs his shop. “He is a simple man. He doesn’t even know how to ride a scooter. I have never heard of him ever visiting Kashmir".
Mohammed Farhan, 25, another neighbour who runs a shop in the same street also said it was unbelievable that Yaseen would fund a terror outfit. “This man and his family are great people. They cannot possibly indulge in anything illegal,” he said.
