If you are just starting out and you are about to build your very first website... DON'T even think about stuff like schema markup or semantic SEO.

Make sure you get the basics right and you will be on your way to growing traffic.

Focus on these 4 things 👀👇
1. Keyword Research

As your new website will have zero authority, you need to concentrate on finding low-competition keywords first.

Follow my method and you can find thousands of low-competition keywords in no time.

2. Understand Search Intent

There are 4 main types of search intent.

1. Informational
2. Navigational
3. Transactional
4. Commercial

Check out this detailed guide on search intent from Semrush.

3. Create Unique Content

Most beginners make the mistake of just copying headings (sections) from the first few articles in SERP and using them as an outline.

This content will have no unique info and won't stand out.

Make sure to do extra research to add a unique perspective.
4. Implement On-Page SEO

Follow these basic practices:

1. Include the primary keyword in the title
2. Use short URLs (include a keyword)
3. Add keyword-rich H2s & H3s
4. Add 'alt text' to your images
5. Use the primary keyword naturally in content, do not do keyword stuffing.
I promise you that if you get these four basic SEO aspects right, you will have a solid foundation for your new website.

How to Find Thousands of Low Competition Keywords in 30 Seconds

This keyword research method helped me to grow my website to 125k monthly visitors without actively building links.

Here's how I did it 👀👇

#SEO #keywordresearch
The most common advice that I see about keyword research is to avoid big fish (high authority competitors) in your niche... and this is a HUGE MISTAKE.

A high authority website will usually rank for millions of keywords.
But did you know that only 10-15% of their keywords rank in the Top 10 in SERPs?

It means the remaining 85-90% of keywords are fair game, and we will be able to discover many low-competition keywords with this huge database.

How to Outrank Tough Competitors with Featured Snippets

"Stealing" a featured snippet is by far the best way to outrank even the toughest competition in your niche.

Here's a SIMPLE framework to own POSITION #0

#SEO #featuredsnippets
How to Identify Featured Snippet Opportunities

According to research by Ahrefs, Google is 99.58% more likely to rank pages as a featured snippet that already appear in the top 10.
Disclaimer: Since that study was published the number of organic listings has decreased to as low as 5 positions in certain SERPs.

So in my example, I'll look for positions #2-5 only.

May Core Update Website Penalty and Recovery

Disclaimer: These are my views and analysis of the May Core Update based on the first-hand data experience and observations of many websites affected by that update.

Let's get started! 👀👇

#SEO #googleupdate #featuredsnippets
What Happened?

Based on my observations, this update appeared to be driven by the goal of improving the accuracy of information provided by featured snippets.

This is how they planned to accomplish it:

1. Significantly decreased the number of SERPs that were generating FSs.
2. Used Google raters to clear out as many untrustworthy websites as possible through manual reviews so they had no chance to claim featured snippets.

How I Made this Conclusion

Many (incl. tools) noticed the lack of featured snippets in SERPs in general after the May update.
