Every MP that as written to Minister for Care and Mental Health has received the same letter with the same ending - recommending you speak to @CareQualityComm only they will not respond to any complaint - so who will @GillianKeegan 3/9 #rightsforresidents
then we are told by @CareQualityComm (August 2022) we will need to wait to see if our complaint will be accepted! - so you see @GillianKeegan not every complaint will be dealt with by @CareQualityComm - so who does protect our loved ones in care 4/9 #rightsforresidents
if we feel that a care home is not following the guidance on visiting..... we are still raising concerns with @CareQualityComm but @GillianKeegan it does not work - no one acts, quickly and efficiently to protect those in care 5/9 #rightsforresidents
and when @CareQualityComm do respond to a report of a care home not following the 'there are no restrictions' guidance @GillianKeegan this is the response we get (August 2022) - do you care? (nearly a year and you still have not met with us!) 7/9 #rightsforresidents
If you have to make an appointment, if you can't see your loved one freely in their own care home, then there are restrictions @trussliz@RishiSunak whichever of you wins, you must put #SocialCare at the top of the agenda including the regulator 8/9 #rightsforresidents
Visiting is just one part of the problem but without proper support for #SocialCare and #CommunityCare you will not sort out the #NHS we are on our 3rd Health Secretary & 2nd Minister for Care in two years - it is not good enough 9/9 #GloriasLaw#rightforresidents

Very long thread, with new guidance out, few care groups have updated their websites, from what we can see on their written guidance - mostly they are still requiring appointments, some are mentioning testing, some are very out of date. Let us know what your group is up to #rfr
freedom for all - except care homes - here are some of the “freedoms” still in place this morning - will there be a change in guidance? rolling lockdowns continue @GillianKeegan@sajidjavid and are you really going to bring in a “pay per view” really? #rfr
As mask wearing goes - full PPE remains - right or wrong? But why such a difference from seeing family in different homes - a home setting nothing a (care) home setting - mask, gloves and aprons still required #rfr
We still need to be tested - makes sense, for now, but are we now going to be charged a “pay per view” tax to see our loved ones? Most homes let families test at home now so - will we have to pay? @GillianKeegan#rightsforresidents
2021 was a year many of us will remember, probably for the wrong reasons. A total lockdown that had started in March 2020, care homes had never really opened up and for most, window visits were the best we could hope for - horrific (thread following!) #rightsforresidents
We were invited to join @leicesterliz at an online meeting she set up for families, to learn more about the situation, hear what people were experiencing first hand and gave all an opportunity to talk openly #rightsforresidents
A brief monthly summary of the website review of the board members of @CareEngland companies and whether they are promoting #essentialcaregiver@CareQualityComm@KateTerroni was up for an award so hope you will read this and follow up asking why some are not #rfr
Today we are going to look at some of the current guidance that every care home resident/family/friend has to go follow (if they are lucky) - does any other part of society have 20 pages of who and how you can see your loved one? Time to revisit @GillianKeegan@sajidjavid#rfr
You might be allowed to hold hands but it come with risks.... they would rather you didn't, but if you do, keep it brief @MattHancock this was in place when you were in charge as well #rightsforresidents
At the end of the day it is all just guidance, it does not have to be followed, this is what we have found and care home providers/managers have the final say - many do - many really don't #rightsforresidents
