Thread 👇
Before we proceed, kindle NOTE these
• TABLE is the combination of many columns
• EXPRESSION is combination of mathematical operations like +,-,×,÷,%,^...
1. SUM (Adds all numbers in a single column of a table) 2. SUMX (Returns the sum of an expression evaluated for each row in a table)
While SUMX can do addition (and other expressions) for each row in a column, SUM can only give the TOTAL SUM of all the numbers in the column
CALCULATE (Evaluates an expression with or without a filter)
Eg the Total SUM of Sales from a specific region only
COUNT (Counts the numbers in a column)
COUNTX (Counts the Number of values which results from evaluating an expression for each row in a column of a table)
DISTINCTCOUNT(Counts the number of distinct values in a column)
Kindly note that DISTINCT values are different from UNIQUE values
DISTINCT values are repeated uniques values while UNIQUE values are non repeated unique values
