Second, meeting with @njelsalvador was incredibly inspiring. These brave souls left the familiar and comfortable to build community in a place the mainstream media call “the most dangerous place on the planet.”

A corollary to this is:
“Many have capital, few care about doing the right thing; even fewer dedicate capital to action.”
These gents care about doing the right thing, and are supporting organizations on the ground.

There’s a feeling you get when you go to ES. It reminds me of Costa Rica circa 2005. Everyone you meet (local or foreign) is doing something interesting.

I live in Puerto Rico and mostly focus on business relationships in Colombia, but I think El Salvador is special, and will be back soon (likely on a more permanent basis).

I paid for juice at a supermarket that “accepted bitcoin.” Technically, they did. Technically the payment was successful. However, the whole process took approximately 3 minutes (I timed it).
