🪡: #VMAs 1992 - Marky #MarkWahlberg has a history of racism & violence. In the 1980s, he was involved in several racially motivated attacks. A month before the 1992 #VMAs he assaulted a neighbor & fractured his jaw. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 1994 - #MichaelJackson (1/2) The first CSA allegations against Jackson broke in 1993 when a 13-year-old accused Jackson of misconduct. Jackson settled with the victim out of court & the police officially closed the investigation a few weeks AFTER the 1994 #VMAs #DVMAs

🪡: In 2003 #MichaelJackson (2/2) was filmed holding hands & discussing sleeping arrangements with a 12-year-old boy. Authorities charged Jackson with 7 counts of child molestation & 2 counts of intoxicating a minor. In 2005 he was acquitted. #VMAs #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 1995 - #MikeTyson ’s first marriage to Robin Givens included multiple allegations of violence & domestic abuse. In 1988, Givens described life with Tyson as "torture, pure hell, worse than anything I could possibly imagine." #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 1995: #DrDre assaulted television host Dee Barnes in 1991. Barnes stated that he "began slamming her face and the right side of her body repeatedly against a wall near the stairway." #VMAs #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 1997 - #IggyPop won in 1997. In 1996 he recorded a song about the sexual relationship he had with thirteen-year-old Sable Starr. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 1999 - #DMX was brought up on animal cruelty charges in 1999, prior to his appearance at the #VMAs, when a dozen distressed dogs were found at this home. Charges were dismissed, but in 2007 & 2008 DMX was again arrested for animal cruelty #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2004 - #OzzyOsbourne attacked Randy Rhoads and Rudy Sarzo in 1982. In 1989, Ozzy assaulted and strangled Sharon Osbourne. He entered rehab and Sharon decided not to press charges. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2004 - #MarilynManson was charged with sexual misconduct & battery against security officer Joshua Keasler in 2001. Manson plead no contest to reduced charges. #VMAs #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2005 - #RKelly (1/2) faced a lawsuit filed, in 1996, by a woman who accused him of sexually abusing her when she was 15. In 2000, police investigated Kelly for sexually abusing minors & in 2002, a video of Kelly sexually abusing an underage woman circulated. #DVMAs

🪡: #RKelly (2/2) was indicted, in 2002, on 21 counts of child pornography in Chicago and in 2003, on 12 additional counts in Florida. He posted bail and was almost immediately released both times. #DVMAs

🪡: #VMAs 2008 - #KidRock was charged with assaulting a DJ in 2005 & at the #VMAs in 2007, Kid Rock assaulted fellow piece of sh!t, Tommy Lee. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2008 - #KobeBryant was arrested after a sexual assault complaint was filed by a 19-year-old hotel employee in 2003. While the criminal case was dismissed, a civil suit was later filed. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2011 - #ChrisBrown and his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, had an argument that escalated into physical violence in 2009 which left Rihanna with visible facial injuries which required hospitalization. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2013 - #RobinThicke ’s Blurred Lines drew a lot of controversy for its misogynistic language and rape-apologist theme. But it was still performed at the #VMAs. In 2021, Emily Ratajkowski (a model in the original video) claimed Thicke sexually assaulted her. #DVMAs

🪡: #VMAs 2019 - #VincentPastore, in 2005, allegedly attacked his then-girlfriend in a car. Pastore punched her, grabbed her hair, and forced her head down on the car's gear shift. They settled out of court. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2020 - #50Cent allegedly kicked the mother of his child and destroyed her property during a June 2013 altercation. 50 Cent struck a deal with Los Angeles prosecutors for three years probation and 30 days of community service. #VMAs #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2021 - #ConorMcGregor allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Dublin in 2018 and a different woman in 2019. In 2020, he was arrested for attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure in Corsica. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2021 - #TommyLee assaulted a photographer in 1996, instigated a racially motivated riot in 1997 & assaulted his then-wife Pamela Anderson while she was holding their child in 1998. #DVMAs #VMAbusers

🪡: #VMAs 2022 - #AnthonyKiedis (#RHCP) admitted in his memoirs that he carried on a sexual relationship with a minor. He even wrote a song about it. Now the #VMAs are giving him a Global Icon award.

🪡: #VMAs 2022 - Johnny Depp was arrested or sued for assault in 1989, 1999, 2011 & 2018. In 1994 he caused $10k worth of damage to his hotel room & in 2016 Amber Heard was granted a TRO after he assaulted her. A UK court found it true that Depp abused Heard in 2020. #DVMAs
