I don't know if there was a better child sitcom character than Dee from What's Happening.

Her delivery was sublime.

Dr. Danielle Spencer that is.

She left acting to pursue her career as a veterinarian in the 1990's.

85 years ago today, Bugs Bunny made his official appearance in A Wild Hare.

This short was nominated for an Oscar in 1940. When it was re-released in 1944, it was renamed The Wild Hare. 🧵
When the film was re-released in 1944, they redubbed the short during the guess who scene.

As Elmer is going through actors of the day, he mentions Cawole Wombard (Carol Lombard. She died two years prior.

She was replaced by Barbara Stanwyck (Bawbawa 😂) Image

58 years ago today, The Great Pumpkin premiered on CBS.

The film had the working title of Big Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Kids felt so bad for Charlie, that they sent their own candy to Charles Schulz to give to Charlie Brown.

The Its a Long Way to Tipperary scene which is now classic was cut out for years in reruns.

It's also the first time that Lucy removing the football scene was animated.

What do Jackie Robinson and Carly Simon have in common?

In 1952, the Robinsons needed a bigger home after the birth of their 3rd child.

The family were denied homes in NY that were "mysteriously" pulled off the market. They had trouble viewing any new properties. (1/3) Image
A reporter asked Rachel Robinson about racial housing practices in the tri state area, and Carly's father Richard, read the article. Along with his wife, they decided to help them find a plot of land.

The Robinson's purchased a plot in Stamford, CT. Image
While their home was built, they had nowhere to go.

So the five Robinson's lived with Carly and her family for a year and a half.

During this time, Jackie would practice baseball in the back yard with the kids.
