The ABC just last week was saying that the closure of the Tavistock clinic in London was not newsworthy even when @ABCmediawatch - which is usually a doormat for fashionable ABC causes - said, perhaps you should look at this?
Just last Saturday, @NC_Robinson reported this tragic local case
Now the @smh is very bravely reporting this tragic case of a woman who as a very young woman had her breasts and womb removed & is now suing her doctor for professional negligence

The US is run at present by unserious people. Once Biden made the Iran deal his priority, this meant the US would need Russian (!!!) help — while the Saudis & Emiratis would have no incentive to help the US by boosting production. Rising fuel/energy costs are all self inflicted.
When the Shah of Iran fell, we all desperately needed new Middle Eastern allies to move up. The Saudis and Emiratis have been very good allies on the whole esp behind the scenes in theatre. I have never quite understood what Obama & now Biden thought the Mullahs would give them.
Going back 20 years to tell myself the Saudis & Emiratis will in 2022 have much warmer and more open relations with Russia and Israel than the US President … who in turn will be negotiating with Iran through in part the Kremlin …

Two career politicians, who otherwise have Govt paid-for drivers, driving in an EV whose entry model costs ~$50,000, around Canberra, with the EV powered by Coal & Gas, is about as perfect a synopsis of 2022 as one will get.
"Denmark has EVs and bicycles"
I quite like the idea of the Tesla roadster but if you want EVs en masse in Australia - given we have a massive country & also urbanised/suburban populaces - then everything from car garages to unit strata complexes to council permission processes will have to be overridden

If this perfectly comprehensible decision for continuity of government purposes was the worst thing Scott Morrison did as Prime Minister in the past two years .... we must have experienced very different pandemics. No sensible PM would have done otherwise esp in March 2020. Image
The absurdly hyperbolic media reaction in August 2022 to this perfectly sensible move in March 2020 is why no sensible PM would ever share it with media absent a crisis where it became relevant to do so. Our system places enormous power in the Executive for war & crises.
The hatred of Scott Morrison personally is overwhelming what already fragile knowledge of basic civics & how our system works exists, especially the Prime Minister's role in our system, among our media #auspol circle of lunacy.
