🧵How many times has Elise Stefanik voted NO and then taken credit for the dough in #NY21? Spoiler Alert: A LOT. #StefanikScam
Rep. Elise Stefanik – voted against American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funding that helped keep police officers in #NY21 on the payroll – that didn’t stop her from taking credit for the funds.
Rep. Elise Stefanik voted against SBA Restaurant Revitalization Funds but you wouldn’t know that from this tweet of her touting the funds.
ARPA had an additional 1.1 million for Watertown. She voted against it but a few days ago, she announced that she won the money for the district. Hard to win money you rejected.
$1.5 million to Hudson Headwaters Health Network and more than $12 million for Glens Falls including $1.6 million for the city’s drinking water system. The Post-Star is right, Let’s not give credit where credit is not due.

She voted against the appropriations bill, but she is out claiming credit for the money it brought to #NY21 like funding for the Northern Border Regional Commission including $1 million for Canton.
Remember that time Elise Stefanik took credit for a grant, won by a scientist named Costel Darie, that she had nothing to do with and failed to mention him? Voters in #NY21 do.
And the list continues. Rep Stefanik doesn’t do what’s right for #NY21, but she sure likes to take credit when it happens in spite of her.
Keep that in mind when Stefanik tries to claim “results”…because the correct word she’s looking for is fraud. #NY21

🧵Putting on my former CIA officer hat regarding today’s redacted affidavit released. Highly classified documents - much like the Office of the President itself - do not belong to any one person, they belong to the American people. /1
The mishandling of highly classified documents could do grave harm to our national security, including information that could compromise human intelligence sources and lead to their deaths. /2
Claims of blanket declassification of these documents are bullshit (looking at you Kash Patel) because just saying something is declassified does not magically remove the tremendous harm to our national security of our most sensitive information getting into the wrong hands. /3

🧵 Former CIA officer here. If I took classified intelligence - let alone Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information about nuclear weapons - I would expect a visit from federal law enforcement. That’s the FBI’s job, to protect our national security. /1
We don’t know if the Top Secret nuclear weapons info was about the US arsenal or a foreign government - but this represents an enormous breach of our national security and if the latter, could compromise intelligence sources and methods and possibly lead to death of our spies./2
We don’t yet know why Trump took these Top Secret documents and refused to return them. But a question every American should be asking - after Trump’s actions on #Jan6 to retain power, how confident are you that he would not sell out our national security to benefit himself? /3
