Linkedin has 310,000,000 monthly users.

Here are 10 tips to help you connect with the right users to unlock opportunities:
#1 Optimize Your Profile and Show Off

1. Add a friendly professional PFP
2. Add an effective headline
3. Add your work experience
4. Create an engaging Summary

Your headline is especially important to help people find you.

An engaging summary will make networking easier.
#2 Get Endorsements

Endorsements are a great way to leave a positive first impression.

Ask for endorsements from:

- Partners
- Your employer & co-workers
- Former Employers & Co-worker
#3 Filter your searches

LinkedIn search has the best filters of any social media platform, use it:

1. Find location-specific results.
2. Find employees of a specific company.
3. Find professionals in a specific industry.
#4 Connect with People You Know AND Strangers

You're here to make new connections as well.

Connect with people you know AND strangers in your industry:

1. Executives
2. Other professionals
#5 Avoid long notes when you connect with strangers

When you connect with people you know, you don't leave a note.

So don't do it for strangers, as that will leave a salesy vibe.

Unless it makes sense:

You have an opportunity that you know interests them.
#6 Leave Comments and Engage

- Be social.
- Reply to comments you get
- Leave thoughtful and positive comments.

The more you interact with people, the more visibility and attention your account will get.
#7 Create content (around what you do)

If you're a writer, write.

If you're a developer, show what you're working on.

If you're a web designer, show some websites you've built.

Document your story and growth, and show people what you can do.
#8 Avoid Generic messages

Generic Messages will usually get ignored:

"Hi"
"Hey"
"Hello"

Network with purpose:

Look at what they do, and ask an engaging question related to what they do/make a direct request..
#9 Help people

If everyone knows you as the person who is good at XYZ,

... People will come to/refer others to you naturally

• Answer questions
• Share helpful resources you made
#10 LinkedIn groups

LinkedIn Groups are excellent for connecting with professionals in your industry.

To find LinkedIn Groups:

Tap “Groups” below the search bar to get the relevant groups to your search term.

Once you’ve joined some, get into discussions and offer help.

I went from teacher to CEO in 5 years.

Here are the 8 soft skills that made it possible (and will help you in any industry):
#1 Leadership

The more responsibility you gain, the more you have to lead others.

The best way to lead others is by:

- Leading by example
- Encouraging creativity
- Motivating those around you
#2 Communication and Teamwork

You can't play every position.

That's why you need to learn to:

1. Communicate (directions, goals, etc.)
2. Know when to get help with tasks.
3. Give feedback and encourage others to do the same.

My company hosts events regularly and organizing cost-effective and time-effective teams can be a challenge especially when we're hosting in a new city or trying to target a new audience.

Can you relate? Here's why we launched @assemble_now to solve this problem! 👇🏾
In June we hosted 5 events in 3 cities in ONE week! Up next is 8 IRL events over 2 months in #losangeles and #atlanta. As fun as this is, I wish we could throw events in Europe, LATAM, the Caribbean, etc. I wish we could branch out beyond our immediate audience into new cultures.
(3) Our vision is to build globally diverse communities that connect people all over the world to opportunities and education. But truly diverse community building is not straightforward, neither is it cheap. There are many logistical, cultural, and language barriers.
