Months after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, RMT leader Eddie Dempsey urges people to back "the anti-fascist resistance", that is, Putin's militias, against "the far right regime in Kyiv" and NATO.

His ribbon has become a symbol of Putin's aggression, worn by Putin himself. 1/6
The meeting was organised by "Solidarity with the Antifascist Resistance in Ukraine" (SARU), a grouping of some of the nastiest of the UK far left.

This cartoon by the antisemite Latuff, posted on their Facebook account, sums SARU up: the Ukrainian Nazi snake versus Lenin. 2/6
In fact, Dempsey was so keen on SARU that he went to the launch meeting, where he lashed out at the "EU/US/British backed fascist Kiev junta" and called for "the neutralisation of British involvement in NATO military operations in Ukraine". 3/6
…neantifascistsolidarity.wordpress.com/2014/06/03/pac…
Alex Gordon, now the RMT's President, was on board too. Here he is, wearing his own Putinist ribbon, demonstrating with SARU outside the Ukrainian embassy in London, with an RMT banner for a backdrop. 4/6
See Gordon spell it out.

"Unequivocal support for the antifascist resistance in Ukraine."

Don't buy the "lies" of the BBC, Channel 4, and the papers about Ukraine.

What is to be done? "You have to polarise the argument." For Moscow, mind. 5/6
Steve Hedley, a sort of RMT thug's thug, was also enthusiastic. Backing Putin's vile crimes was an important cause for the RMT.

People who adore the RMT now remind me of the old line on real fascists, with a twist. "At least they make the trains not run at all." 6/6

One of the tired tricks in the far left and Islamist playbooks is to form a new group with a grand name. But it is no more than a cheap new package for the same old rot.

See the launch of “Global Alliance for Palestine”, a gambit of Corbyn and Hamas UK.

Try Tadhg Hickey. 1/9
Don't be "squeamish" about "the resistance", Hickey says. Don't you dare "dehumanise" them by calling them terrorists. Back them! What a disgusting creature.

Oh, hark, the greatest Irish hero of our times! 2/9
A word salad from Anas Altikriti. A sort of Z-list Islamist Ted talk.

He is seriously unimpressive. But he is deemed some sort of prized intellectual in "the movement".

He strongly backs Hamas and has even claimed the terrorists would treat hostages ever so well. 3/9

Saturday afternoon in Brighton, that city of sanctuary and oasis of tolerance.

The trans flag and chants for the death cult Houthis of Yemen, who sentence gay men to death by crucifixion.

The "Palestine Solidarity Campaign" calls its marchers "the very best of humanity". 1/10
They really do like the Houthis.

The Houthi slogan: "God is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse the Jews, Victory to Islam."

Perhaps the Green Party could give them ceremonial keys to Brighton?

I wonder what Pride is like in Sanaa, Yemen's capital? 2/10
We do know what Sanaa looked like just yesterday. That's the Houthi slogan on the placards. Such fantastic people. Heroes! 3/10

Don't say "Islamist" or "jihadist". Don't say "hate marches" either, "arguably inciting division and emboldening far-right sentiments”.

Why on earth should civil servants be "trained" by the "Anti-Islamophobia Working Group", which came up with these lines?

There's more. 1/13 Image
The link.

“It is deeply concerning that DESNZ is not prepared to share the content of this session. Without transparency there is a risk that training is embedding deeply contested ideology into the civil service, which is meant to be impartial." 2/13
telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/…
Now let's look at a rather revealing segment from an AIWG report. "How dare they call them hate marches!"

So, what did London look like on 11 November 2023? There certainly was far right trouble. It was indeed roundly condemned.

And the other side, the "peace marchers"? 3/13 Image

Are Islamists long locked out in the political cold finding a back door into mainstream politics? It seems so.

For now, one story. The Aziz Foundation is at the heart of all this.

One must question the judgment of a group that chose the academic Tarek Younis as a "mentor". 1/9
Look at his reaction to the Hamas atrocities of 7 October.

On the day - "decolonial" abductions, rape, torture, and mass murder. 2/9 Image
A day later - "how can we support the Palestinian resistance?". 3/9 Image

This is one reason why I don't trust Akeela Ahmed to set a formal definition of Islamophobia.

The risks of extremist exploitation are very high.

Yet she seems to know little about the topic. Or she's simply unwilling to address it directly and firmly. See this exchange. 1/7
She's asked about "anti-blasphemy activism" and social cohesion. How to address it?

All sorts of meandering answers follow.

- "Not my expertise", "not my experience in British Muslim communities".

- In Batley, "people receiving information online became more polarised". 2/7 Image
- In addition, successive governments have not "invested in community cohesion", rendering people "vulnerable".

- "Misinformation" from beyond Batley in the UK and outside the UK was another problem in Batley.

- "Rather than developing intitiatives just thinking... 3/7

How low will they go in Edinburgh? Last Saturday, right to the bottom of the hatred pit. At least three Nazi slurs were hurled from the podium. And there was much more.

First up, Tommy Sheppard, a former SNP MP. The flag of the Iranian regime is a most appropriate backdrop. 1/9
That wasn't enough for Sheppard. He then urged people to take "action" against defence companies in Scotland. Why? Because they are "crucifying" Palestinians.

Sheppard spent much of his time in Westminster hating on Israel and bringing extremists to Parliament. 2/9
Lesley Riddoch is a columnist for "The National". And it shows. No, a baroness resorting to a "concentration camp" slur does not make it OK. 3/9
