If Trump was a normal person, we'd say he was desperate & flailing tonight. But a more accurate assessment, given his psychopathology, is that he had suffered serious narcissistic injury. This rally was oxygen. A drug.

So for many years I've been saying Trump is addicted to the rallies. And meant it in the clinical medical definition of 'addiction'. Like someone addicted to cigarette smoking. Trump is physically unable to stop holding his rallies even if he wanted to.

Trump was the only sitting President who never stopped holding rallies in first years since last election, to focus on governing, and only start political rallies in summer of 4th year, the year of re-election

Note - BIDEN after Trump has returned to that normal form

The sitting President typically does a few election events in the mid-term year two years into the Presidency but other than that, they do the rare political speeches on national topics - for GENERAL audiences not partisan - like SOTU speech, or a speech abroad

Trump was so addicted, he held political rallies all throughout his Presidency and has started them nearly immediately after he was out of office??????

Nobody does this. A few opportunistic politicians will sneak in a clearly-politically-aspirational speech at some random event

But the Presidential PRIMARY season politics start in the summer of NEXT year. Trump has been campaigning from 2021 for 2024

And his rallies are NUTS

They are a hate cult conference, they do not HELP politically. They are only gatherings of the maganutters

So Trump NEVER has magarallies to expand his voter base. He preaches only to the choir. It will make his fans love him more. It does not serve him politically to try to WIN any election because he excludes and intimidates those who are not sure of their support of him

Then .. Trump obsesses about the crowd size. Not if his NEW message is getting across (he LOST in 2024, he would have to be an idiot to try to run on the same losing strategy)

Trump has NO surrogates to support that (nonexistent) new direction. He plays his greatest hits instead

We have SEEN this, during 2017-2020 a couple of times his speech-writers had given him an important political point to drive (that would help in an election) and Trump went off the script, live on TV, said, I don't want to talk about this, and went on: Build The Wall, Lock Her Up

And here is the LUNATIC part

To feed Trump's fragile ego, Trump CAMPAIGN spends money to hire extras into his audience to make Trump feel his audience is larger

that campaign money is spent that will NEVER add one vote for Trump

Because Trump has never been loved in his life, he was vulnerable to 'Love Letter Diplomacy' by Kim Jong Un

Trump was gullible to believe Kim Jong Un actually 'loved' or at least 'greatly admired' Trump, while the brutal dictator played Trump

Same with Trump wives, Trump kids, they are threatened to show respect to Trump, they all hate him

So the 'admiration' of the illusion of Trump the Billionaire and Jesus-like Messiah to Magacult #Cult45 that Trump feels in his rallies, is his subtitute for love

For one of Trump's many psychological disorders he is clearly a narcissist. And for a narcissist to hear a crowd of thousands chant your name - that is his drug. He is as addicted to THAT part of campaigning which is the rallies. NOT the press interviews, not the debates, etc

Trump's rallies have the appearance of a political campaign but are only one part of it. Even as rallies they are a poor vehicle, because Trump does not use rallies to EXPAND his voter base. He does not do local TV & press at the time, only talking to his base through Fox

and he runs MORE rallies than any other politician. Not because this is sound political strategy, but because he is addicted to them

BTW imagine a drug addict going cold turkey in jail? Prison will be MORE painful to Trump than to you or me: no more rallies
