As we fight for LGBTQ+ Equality here in the UK the transphobic PM names a #Cabinet full of those opposed to our equality. Who has the PM surrounded herself with, how have they voted for our equality and said about us as the LGBTQ+ community?
A Thread so we can know our enemy 👇
1. Thérèse Coffey MP
The new Deputy Prime Minister voted against extending Gay Marriage Equality to Northern Ireland in 2019 and against allowing it in the UK in 2013. She is also anti-abortion.
2. Kwasi Kwarteng MP
Absent for the vote on extending equal gay marriage to Northern Ireland he twice voted against legalising it in the UK in 2013.
3. James Cleverly MP
Absent for both votes on extending gay marriage to Northern Ireland he has never voted on the issue.
4. Suella Braverman QC MP
The new Secretary of State voted against expanding Gay Marriage to Northern Ireland and has made a name for herself recently with her openly transphobic comments and for advocating equality law be used to discriminate against trans women and children
5. Wendy Morton MP
Absent for both votes on extending Gay marriage equality to Northern Ireland. She has however spoken in favour of Sports being allowed to exclude trans women if they so choose.
6. Ben Wallace MP
At every turn and opportunity Ben Wallace has voted against Gay Marriage, both extending to Northern Ireland and also for the UK. In 2007 he also voted against making unlawful to discriminate against someone for their sexuality.
7. Penny Mordaunt MP
So far she is the only member of the Cabinet to have voted in favour of gay marriage at all. However she is deeply transphobic with her leadership bid making attacking trans rights a key campaign point.
8. Lord True CBE
Hasn't voted on Gay Marriage or made any statements on LGBTQ+ matters that I could find.
9. James Berry MP
The Minister without Portfolio has never voted in favour of Gay Marriage being absent for every vote on the issue since 2013.
10. Alok Sharma MP
Absent for all but one vote on Gay Marriage equality in which he did vote in favour.
11. Simon Clarke MP
Voted against expanding Gay marriage equality to Northern Ireland and has made public statements against trans rights such as defending "biological sex". Also anti-abortion.
12. Jacob Rees-Mogg
This Vitcorian Steel Mill Owner has constantly voted against gay marriage equality at every opportunity since 2013. He has also defended prominent TERFs and attacked 'trans ideology'
(More to follow I'm just catching up with announcements)
13. Kemi Badenoch MP
Badenoch has never voted in favour of Gay Marriage equality having been absent for the votes. She is however a hardliners transphobe who's leadership bid was dominated by attacks against our community. She is particularly outraged at Gender Neutral Toilets
14. Chloe Smith MP
When she has been around to vote she has voted in favour of extending marriage equality to gay people. She has also gone to Norwich Pride on numerous occasions. Potentially the only non LGBTQ hostile cabinet member so far...
15. Kit Malthouse MP
Like Chloe Smith, Kit Malthouse has a positive voting record on Gay Marriage however has not made any comments either supporting or attacking the trans community and so his views here are unknown.
16. Ranil Jayawardena MP
Voted twice against extending gay marriage to Northern Ireland. He has also voted against making the school curriculum LGBTQ+ inclusive.
17. Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP
Has never voted for Gay Marriage equality being absent for both votes she was entitled to take part in. She did however defend Boris Johnsons transphobia shortly after Jamie Wallis MP came out as trans
18. Michelle Donelan MP
Voted twice against expanding gay marriage equality to Northern Ireland and has expressed her public support for prominent transphobes such as for Kathleen Stock.
19. Chris Heaton-Harris MP
Has always voted in favour of gay marriage equality. Has made no positive or negative comments regarding trans rights that I could find.
20. Alister Jack MP
Has never voted in favour of Gay Marriage equality having been absent for all eligible votes.
21. Sir Robert Buckland KBE QC MP
Has on several occasions voted against Gay Marriage in the UK and extending this to Northern Ireland. He also started preparations to withdraw the MoJ from Stonewall due to their support for trans rights
22. Chris Philp MP
Whilst he has voted once in favour of gay marriage (extending it to N.I) he has made public statements against trans rights including calling trans women men who just identify as women.
23. Michael Ellis QC MP
Has voted in favour of Gay Marriage equality when at Parliament and calls himself an LGBTQ+ ally.
24. Edward Argar MP
Has never voted in favour of Gay Marriage equality.
25. Vicky Ford MP
She has twice voted for Gay Marriage Equality but hasn't said much regarding other parts of the LGBTQ+ community.
26. Tom Tugendhat
Has said he wants to move on from talking about trans issues and whilst generally supportive of trans rights he has defended "free speech" by transphobes in the past. Has voted to legalise gay marriage twice.
27. James Heappey MP
Has never voted in favour of gay marriage equality.
I do believe that should be the last appointment. I'll update if more come through.
Only 9 of the 27 members have voted in favour of Gay Marriage, many have made negative statements about trans people. This is just how bad the cabinet is on LGBTQ+ equality, being full of Tories they will also be awful to everyone else (who isn't rich, cis, straight and white).
Apologies I somehow missed from here (despite talking about him earlier):
28. Nadhim Zahawi
Whilst he has always voted in favour of extending gay marriage he is ardently anti-trans and spent his Campaign for leader publicly attacking our community.
And from this morning:
30. Graham Stuart MP
Has mostly been absent for votes on extending Gay Marriage and Equalities but has done so on 2 occasions.

🧵I have just emailed my returning Labour MP the four recent academic papers that prove the Cass Review is dangerous anti-trans pseudoscience. Opposing Labour's dangerous position on trans rights will require activism and direct action. I see this as a small part of that...
Will an email make a different? Most likely not. But it is an action we can all do and one that is easy and immediate to take whilst we plan broader community resistance to what might come. If we can get a couple of Labour MP's on our side against Cass, that helps slightly...
If you also want to send these academic papers to your Labour MP then I have linked them here. They are all open access so anyone can get them, read them, and share them...
🚨🧵 A Thread detailing what the Tory Party Manifesto says about Trans People... 🏳️⚧️
It's going to be horrific but sadly it is still vitally important to outline what is being said by our governing party as they seek re-election...
1/?
Page 27 of the Manifesto promises that "the concept of gender identity is not taught to children". This is effectively the promised Trans specific Section 28 style policy that we have been warning about...
Page 42 of the Manifesto promises that it "will complete the implementation of the Cass Review". And as I type this Sunak says in his speech "Sex means biological sex" and it gets a massive applause...
The Cass Review denied trans history, in part, to invent an origin and espouse a 'social contagion' myth of being transgender so as to support restrictions for transgender healthcare. This inquiry will do the same. As heritage experts we have a moral duty to challenge that denial
Archaeology and Heritage are inherently political. In this instance they are being used to not only tell trans people we have no history, but actviely attack our access to lifesaving healthcare. We must use our expertise to break the myths of transness somehow being new...
Ways of doing Gender far beyond the modern West's sex/gender binary litter the historic and archaeological record. We have a duty to tell these stories. Archaeology can and must become the tool for transgender liberation it is capable of being...
The Cass Review disregarded ≈98% of the clinical studies that supported a trans affirmation model of social/medical transition. It then uncritically espoused anti-trans rhetoric to attack trans affirmation. Any idea that the report is neutral or scientific is patently absurd...
The Report is 388 pages of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria framed propaganda without any robust evidence to support its dangerous recommendations. It is a sham.
It ignores or excludes key research and gives privilege to the bigoted views of those that wish to eradicate trans people
It self evidently has no understanding of trans needs, history, community or proven best healthcare practice.
So the Cass Review claims that "for many centuries transgender people have been predominantly trans females" (Page 114).
As a someone studyiung a PhD in Transgender Archaeology I'd just like to say this is serious bullshit. No wonder she doesn't include a citation for this!
The entire report, ironically considering its claims, is built on shaky foundations. This is just one example.
Fuck me.
Also for those asking "What is Transgender Archaeology", Google It? Or are two recent research outputs of mine that cover a little of what is in the subject area:
🧵 A Thread on how the Lord of The Rings Characters would react to Frodo coming out as Non-Binary...
(Because I needed to do something that made me smile today, enjoy)
Samwise says that whilst he might not immediately understand, he will protect his Frodo at all costs and endeavour to learn more about the Non-Binary community. Asks if he is still okay to call them "Master Baggins".
Meriadoc immediately hugs Frodo and exclaims "I always said the folk from Buckland where queer - guess there was just more Buckland in you than I knew!". He also Helps Frodo come out to Pippin.
