Debunking the myth: Reason of Shri Krishna having 16,108 wives.
Shri Krishna was a king during the Dwapara Yuga and he only had 8 wives then, a common practice of polygamy during the days. They were Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Nagnajiti, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Bhadra and Lakshmana.
During that time, Narakasura, a demon, captured 16,100 beautiful unmarried girls in his area and he used them as sex slaves. Shri Krishna fought him and defeated him.
Obviously, the women were
freed. But the society and their own family were never going to accept them.
The reason was they were already labelled as "Sex slaves". They were about to commit suicide because of this reason.
So, Shri Krishna married them to restore their honor and raise their status in society to queen. There is nobility in his action. That is how he had 16,108 wives.
Another story about Shri Krishna that most ignorant people mock is the story of Shri Krishna’s Rasleela. The Bhagavad Gita states that Shri Krishna left for Mathura at the age of 10, and never returned to Vrindavan again.
The stories of Rasleela is all from Vrindavan which means that the age of Krishna was 8-9 years. What he did at this age should be labelled as "mischief" by young boy rather than "eve teasing".
Instead, if you look at Mahabharat,
it was Shri Krishna who rescued
Draupadi when she was getting humiliated and disrobed.
Even her five husbands Pandavas, Bhishma, Dronacharya, all remained silent. In fact, only Shri Krishna was able to save her honor.
What this tweet is trying to convey is that it is important to learn, unlearn and relearn the Shastras before mocking anything said on the knowledge related to Sanatana Dharma.
Hare Krishna!

We all know Hindu temples in North India having faced destruction at the hands of Islamic armies. But not many know that Southern temples were also vandalised and looted during multiple Islamic invasions. Here are 5 southern temples that once faced the wrath of Islamic vandalism.

Considered to be the oldest amongst the 106 earthly Vaishnava Divya desams, it survived multiple Islamic invasions. The first came from Malik Kafur whose army plundered the treasury and, stole the riches.
