2) ‘there woz load of baduns. Police were nowhere to be seen’
Sorry sending 2 or 4 officers to a 20+ group of armed yobs isn’t a good idea. Underfunded/understaffed Police take time to gather enough Officers together to be able to deal with it safely. #Leicester

Then when Officers have to use force, the world and their dog criticises the use of force and they face misconduct/criminal charges. If you’re outnumbered, you end up using more force to achieve the same objective.

The Police don’t have the choice to ignore other offences because they’re not murders or rapists. They can only deal with one thing at a time! Want better, vote for a @10DowningStreet l which will give back needed funding to the Police.

4) All these extra officers and still there’s no Police about.
In some forces up to 47% of all new Officers leave within 2 years! And despite the ‘increase’ Police Forces are expected to save 10’s of millions of pounds in the next year!
Simple maths shows pay less, get less.

5) ‘Police do a shit job.’
Sometimes officers get it wrong! We know this. So does EVERY profession. It doesn’t help new Officers mostly are young and inexperienced, because the starting pay is less than McDonalds.
If Gov paid better, we’d get people with life experience.

Despite our best efforts, a lot of Police would agree with you. With proper funding/backing, we could get back control of the streets.
#stopandsearch is a must. Carrying weapons needs a mandatory prison term. Make sentences a deterrent.
