I’m a bit more optimistic about Britain’s future if these two are heavily involved in shaping it. I feel they are gatekeepers to a more progressive and unified society, if we are willing to let them help.
#KingCharlesIII #KeirStarmer
I realise they are both white men who aren’t spring chickens. But they are both progressives. That is what matters. Our current PM doesn’t have a progressive bone in her body, despite her student activism. Progressives are gatekeepers that will widen the net. Truss won’t.
And this is what they’re up against. Fight the real enemy.

Two weeks ago the British Prime Minister said the ‘jury was out’ on whether this man was friend or foe.

If nothing else, I hope our government uses this period to reclaim some basic dignity for itself and for our country.

Hello, here’s some archive footage of the new Home Secretary. Sleep well.
Also, unfortunately our new Business Secretary is somewhere in the blue zone. To put it non scientifically, this means we’re a bit screwed. Image
Always keep an eye on the tweets of the spouses of the sacked ministers. In this case, Johnny Mercer’s wife. Party unity going well. 👀 👀 Image

Not a metaphor. 😂 Image
Never mind Image
The Tory MPs all went inside and now they’ve come out again, which is a great metaphor for the ever changing positions of our new PM.

It’s Labour’s fault we don’t have enough nuclear power apparently. 2006. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Blair was bloody awesome.
He and Brown totally dwarf all the Tory pond life that has followed them. Totally different league.

Dignified response to the latest tedious Owen Jones rant from @Keir_Starmer. A bit like a grown up dealing with a toddler who won’t eat their broccoli.

He’s right too. It’s great to have a @UKLabour leader interested in governing.

Jones is just noise.

Owen Jones seems to want Liz Truss to be in power for as long as possible. It’s very odd.
I mean he was literally a cheerleader for a regime that saw Labour crash to its worst defeat since 1935. Quite bonkers.

At last, @maitlis, whose credentials as a serious journalist are unimpeachable, calls out the media’s terror of reporting the #BrexitDisaster.

Prince Andrew might not be able to sweat, but those with their heads in the Brexit sands of fantasy should be.
Now wait for the vicious personal attacks on @maitlis that will follow, questioning her professionalism and integrity. But the cat is well and truly out of the bag about what’s been going on between media and government. People ‘took back control’ and got this collusion & deceit.
