Is the desire to rid oneself of the ego, yet another manifestation of ego? What exactly is ego?

Ego creates itself and gets rid of itself when it exhausts itself out.

Ego is a structure, a thought pattern of self identity that is created when we identify with the information from our senses and from our conditioning.

Ego initially assumes the identity of the body and as it exhausts the material reality then it assumes the identity of the various faculties of the mind.

Any action that is planned for future is the work of ego. Any action that is instant where seeing merges with action is not in time & is beyond ego. There is no division in this action. This requires you to be hyper alert, hyper focused and deeply aware of your own conditioning.

All thoughts emerge from memory which is a huge information bank. Primary building blocks of memory are habit patterns. Long standing habits become character or personality or ego.

Thought is recall function of memory & so thought and memory are one & the same in essence.

First thought to pop up in awareness is primarily triggered by resident habit patterns & secondarily by environment. Subsequent train of thoughts is always triggered by resident habit patterns until a new thought pops up & the cycle is repeated endlessly all through wakefulness.

It is obvious that thoughts are on autopilot and they create “you” on the fly, they sustain “you” and kill “you” along with themselves.

So the million dollar question is “What exactly is my true nature?”

It is obviously not your body or the ego or personality but it is the SUBJECTIVE LIGHT that illuminates all of your perceptions namely, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling, thinking and intuiting.

This LIGHT is invisible to all of your perceptions but is unmistakable, undeniable, self-luminous and self-evident just like the thoughts.

It is impossible for you to prove to someone else that you have thoughts and memory!

The LIGHT is nameless, formless, dimension-less, non-local and non-temporal.

This LIGHT is a non-material reality and therefore indestructible, causeless, beginning-less and endless. This LIGHT is infinite and eternal.

The cosmos along with time and space are merely a set of perceptions in this LIGHT in the presence of a perceiving medium like your body mechanism.

This LIGHT sees, hears, smells, tastes, feels, thinks and intuits through millions of body mechanisms and is the ONE and only absolute reality.
