so, here's why i disliked #BrahmastraMovie
🧵
* It's a rare superhero #film where the universe is threatened to be consumed by dark powers but no one gives a flying fcuk except for a few chosen ones who run a lovely professional university kinda ashram. There's no sense of panic
* Once awakened, Ranbir's character mainly uses his powers of pyrotecnics to woo his girlfriend. There are fireflies, fire birds, fire this, fire that. In short... fire, fire everywhere, not a soul to see. No one notices the strange pyrotecnics in the sky #BrahmastraMovie#film
* The dialogues of #BrahmastraMovie are like subtitles of a Telugu #film dubbed in English. Sample few
Wo so raha hai kyunki uske andar ki mahashaktiyan jaag rahi hain
Kaun ho tum? Kya ho tum?
Tum mere pyaar me jal gayi.
And then, #AliaBhatt 's shiva, shiva, shivaaa, SHIVAAA
i wasn't, frankly, expecting a storyline in a movie written & directed by Ayan Mukherji. but #BrahmastraMovie does not even take the pains to flesh out its lead characters. the only focus of #film is Isha & Shiva's lazy love story & VFX. the story is - Gully Boy with superpowers
