Niche Site Idea

A website about what was it like growing up and living in the 90s.

Here is how I would grow this website πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡

#SEO #nichesite #marketing #keywordresearch
These are some of the topic examples to give you a better idea of what this project is gonna be about:

Fantasy Movies Released in the 90s
Bubble Gum From the 90s
90s Hip Hop Costume Ideas
Popular Black Actresses in the 90s
Nike Basketball Shoes in the 90s
Content Strategy

Unlike the previous content strategies that I shared, with this project, I wouldn’t focus on a particular cluster and just create content across many categories at once.
These are some of the categories you can have on the website:

Celebrities
Fashion
Food
Movies
Music

At first, I would go after low-competition keywords. Here is the traffic potential just from these keywords.
Here is an example of the traffic potential of just one particular article.
Keyword Research

I used just one seed keyword to generate a list of topic ideas:

90s

As simple as that. You can see the entire list of low-competition keywords here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
WARNING: I did my best to clear out any explicit words from the list, but I’m sorry if you discover something inappropriate.

I hope you understand I couldn’t go through all 8000 keywords.
Monetization

Display Ads

This project will almost exclusively be monetized with display ads.

Once you start getting over 1000 monthly visitors you can monetize your website with Google AdSense or Ezoic.
Your next goal should be to reach 50k/100k sessions/pageviews per month so you can apply to Mediavine/AdThrive.

Affiliate Marketing

There are some opportunities to promote products from the 90s that people might be interested in buying.
Bustle came up with a list of authentic ’90s products.

Conclusion

This is a fun niche site idea for people with any level of SEO expertise. It has the potential to generate a very good income mostly through display ads.

Niche Site Idea with over 1M/mo Traffic Potential

Disclaimer: A combination of an aged domain and programmatic SEO is required to achieve success in this niche.

Here is the list of keywords to target πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡
4 letter words * / four letter words *
5 letter words * / five letter words *
6 letter words * / six letter words *

and so on.

These massive search volumes are supported by an ongoing interest in the trending game Wordle.
And although the SERPs are dominated by some high authority websites, I came across a bunch of websites built on aged domains that are doing great.

Here is an example of such a domain (DR 18). It grew from 0 to almost 400k in just 3 months.

How Many Kittens Can a Cat Have
What Is the Average Size of a Rabbit Litter
Content Strategy

I would create 3 main categories on the website:

Dogs

I would start by covering all dog breeds first.

There are anywhere between 195 and 500 dog breeds in the world, so you will have plenty of content ideas just based on the dog breeds.

Creative Link Building Outreach Tactic

I have received hundreds of outreach emails in the past couple of years.

I did not engage with any of these emails since they used the same template over and over again.

Don't copy this outdated technique.

Try this instead πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡
If you run a website, chances are you are good at keyword research. The idea is to trade your skills for a link.

1. Identify Link Prospects

They should be relevant to your niche but are not your direct competitors.
2. Prepare a List of Topic Ideas

Create a content map with 30-50 topic ideas. Avoid obvious topics where most of these link prospects already rank.

I would use this method of discovering relevant keywords but the ones they are not targeting.

How to Find Thousands of Low Competition Keywords in 30 Seconds

This keyword research method helped me to grow my website to 125k monthly visitors without actively building links.

Here's how I did it πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡

#SEO #keywordresearch
The most common advice that I see about keyword research is to avoid big fish (high authority competitors) in your niche... and this is a HUGE MISTAKE.

A high authority website will usually rank for millions of keywords.
But did you know that only 10-15% of their keywords rank in the Top 10 in SERPs?

It means the remaining 85-90% of keywords are fair game, and we will be able to discover many low-competition keywords with this huge database.
