Teams to Target

Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs are clearly the teams to target while picking players this GW based on data from @drafthound

Arsenal & Villa attack are also good shouts this week while data suggests avoiding Leicester & Wolves!
A callout here would be that Spurs have not looked anywhere close to what they were last season. So, think twice before doubling or tripling up on their players. Also, Everton have been good defensively. They aren’t a boogey team and shouldn’t be targeted.
Keepers Delight

Pope is the standout option for the managers who are wildcarding. Newcastle have conceded a lot of shots this season but most of them have been low XG which means one thing– SAVE POINTS. He now faces a side with the worst xG & worst for Big chances created so far
Ederson would be our second choice for this Gameweek. City are the best defensive side in the league (best xGC in the league) and play a Wolves side who are finding it difficult to score goals with just 3 goals so far this season. More points for Ederson can surely be on the way.
Arsenal have not kept a clean sheet in their last 3 games. They are now facing Brentford who have been really attacking at home (10 goals in 3 home games). Ramsdale himself has not been in a great form & not getting those save points. Avoid for now as there are better options.
Options in Defence

Wolves are in a mess right now with all their strikers injured & just signed Costa. They have found it tough to score(19th) & are in bottom 6 for xG. This makes Cancelo the best defender to own in the premium category– more so as he might start playing at RB
Newcastle have been good defensively & their opponents this GW have struggled both offensively & defensively. It's the attacking threat of Trippier which makes him a great option to own. He's on set pieces & ranks 2nd in terms of creativity among all defenders this season.
Leicester concede a lot of chances through their flanks. From what we have seen this season, Conte’s wingbacks are no less than strikers while attacking. They are at the end of a lot of crosses and whoever starts between Sess/Perisic this week, he could haul.
We will be avoiding Neco Williams this Gameweek as we do not expect Nottingham to keep a clean sheet against Fulham. They have now conceded 10 goals in last 3 games (even BOU managed to score 3 goals against them). Just relying on Neco's attacking return can be risky.
Midfield Debate

KDB ranks 1st for big chance involvements among all midfielders and 1st for xA in the premier league. Considering the fact that a lot of managers are looking to move on from Salah, KDB can be a like for like replacement if not better. Last season repeat? Please?
Southampton have conceded 6 goals in their 3 away games. Most of the chances have been conceded from their left flank where Bailey operates and we are backing the 4.7m midfielder to do well this week. He has done a good job in a lackluster Villa team so far.
Son hasn’t looked anywhere close to what he did last season. We know he overperformed his numbers last season too but this season has been BAD so far. Yes – so far because we know the quality of the player & that Leicester concede a ton from their flanks. Give him one last week.
Martinelli ranks 3rd for big chance involvements among midfielders & 2nd best for non-penalty xGi for midfielders priced at 6.5 or below. He's a set and forget pick at his price range & is also involved in most Arsenal attacks. We expect him to do well against Bretford this week.
Bournemouth have the 3rd worst xGC (expected goal conceded) in the league this season & have conceded 100 crosses down the left flank, more than twice as many as their right flank, and 25 more than any other team. Almiron will be operating from that wing and should do well.
Neto has 0 attacking returns in 6 Gameweeks now. It's time to move on from him as there are better options available now in the 6.5 million or below category. We feel he can become a good option from Gameweek 11, now that Diego Casta has been signed.
Forwards headache

There is not much to say about the FPL KING. He ranks 1st for goals scored, xG and big chance involvements in the league. He is a must have.
Mitrovic is another player who has certainly passed the eye test & backed it up with amazing stats- ranks 2nd in the league for goals scored & xG this season. He will be facing NFO this week who concede majority of their chances through the middle & have the worst xGC in league
Isak has had a good couple of games already for Newcastle. He should have scored against Palace too (couldn’t finish the chip)
Passed the eye test✅

He has been involved in 3 big chances so far & faces a BOU side who have already conceded 18 goals(majority through the middle)
Captaincy Debate

A well-rested Haaland will now play against a Wolves side who haven’t conceded a lot of chances but when they have, it’s been through the centre. Let’s just leave it here. Haaland will be our first recommendation for this week.
Leicester are in Bottom 5 for xGC (expected goal conceded) this season. 5 of the 16 goals that they have conceded have been to strikers. Losing Fofana won’t help them either and hence SIR HAROLD KANE is expected to continue his good run of form and deliver yet again.
Son has not had a great start to the season. He has lacked confidence but got into good positions in the last 2 games. If there is one game that can bring Son back in form, it is this Leicester game. The home advantage can be massive & we feel if Son starts, he could do well.
Wildcard

We have made a detailed video covering the Wildcard scenario and our draft!

Please note - Since United's game has been postponed as well, we can replace Rashford and Dalot in the draft with Maddison and Fofana or Keep Dalot as well.

We would like to thank @Fantasypaedia , @drafthound, @FPL_Chase and @FFScout for some of the stats/images that we used in our thread.

Our point of view –

If you are looking to Wildcard after GW8, do go through this image shared by @FPLOsama .

We can clearly see that Brighton attackers should be targeted for the next 3 games along with Nottingham and Newcastle defence.

Do remember FPL is about correct decisions and they pay off in the long run. Having Salah as captain this Gameweek was the correct decision but the wrong outcome. His underlying stats were good as well. Always trust stats and eye test more than the outcomes.
