FL Governor Ron DeSantis and TX Governor Greg Abbott, with TFG's help & many others incl. some DHS, are attempting to deliberately engineer a violent confrontation between their states and the federal government. A🧵:

1/ #DeSantis & #Abbott pull this stunt with shipping people to MA. Predictable outrage ensues, but there's an important reality here: they probably violated federal law, and I don't mean shoplifting, I'm talking multiple federal felonies. #ImmigrantsAreWelcome

2/ Legitimate legal reality sets in. Contained within that reality - *based on what we alraedy know* - major charges on the table. And they should be. This is a criminal matter and needs to be prosecuted. Let's say that it is. (Let's hope that it is: who are we if not?)

2a/ The governors of Texas and Florida are now probable potential felons at least in the state of Massachusetts and maybe federal. ( & we know how these folks love the potential of things...) Yet they're still running states, actively & openly engaged in treason and sabotage.

3/ Meanwhile they've been getting their oh so tragically manipulable base to buy in on decades of hostility and fearmongering and bigotry and hate and oh yeah do you have enough guns?

4/ You now have a scenario in which we may see federal police or outside states' National Guard, or both, be legitimately required to either arrest, or protect, or do both, to the governor/s of Texas and/or Florida. This means a couple of earth-shattering things, no hype:

5/ (1) The sitting governors of two states, acting in obvious and unquestionable coordination with a former President and multiple US Congresspersons, judges, and other officials at every level of government, are deliberately attempting to provoke an armed confrontation w/feds.

6/ (2) They are doing so for the explicit purpose of using populist rhetoric on a population deliberately well-primed with disinformation for decades to spark a violent confrontation that ends with them, and totalitarianism, on top. In short, they are trying to end us as we are.

7/ The US neofascist movement, which includes the current governors of FL & TX, has now manipulated themselves in position to whip their bases into further frenzy and stupidity, with calls to arms to defend state capitals against feds dispatched to arrest. #RememberTheAlamo

8/ *THIS IS THEIR DELIBERATE INTENT.* They expect war, there's no other word for it, and they expect to win it, quite possibly with the help of Russia. That may be what the whole Ukraine play is actually about, distracting attention and resources to "over there."

9/ DO NOT underestimate the implications of this event. Because of the way it was done, including the involvement of DHS, this may represent the most clear and present threat to the integrity of our nation, and our freedom, since the 19th century.

10/ *IF* these ham-handed, black-hearted, ignorant fascist bastards have thought about what they're doing, this is part of their endgame, they're tipping their hands, and they may not realize it. They think they're ready to go, working from TX and FL.

11/ Y'all who have been following me know I'm not BS. Can I prove intent? No(*). But that's the big picture they're drawing, step by step, plain as day, right in front of us.

The fascists think they've become strong enough to take the United States of America from within.

*11a/ (* making it hard to prove is old tactics that shouldn't require explanation. Anyone who's observed these people know that gasilghting and plausible deniability are their stock in trade.)

12/ THAT is why there are fifty people in #MarthasVineyard right now who didn't ask or want to be there, being well taken care of by Americans who remember and honor what that word is supposed to mean. That's why DeSantis & Abbott think they can do this.

13/ We have a serious problem, and we have to start taking it seriously, right now. We are under an active fascist incursion by some of our own government officials and fellow citizens, and I think this play is them getting ready to try and troll us into a hot problem.

14/ All that said, I absolutely trust that if some long-haired "gifted child" from the 70's in the middle of flyover country can see this, then it means smarter people than I am who have the power to do something about it can, too. I want to trust that the rot isn't deep enough

15/ to have infected all of those iron-clad topper-than-top secret contingency plans for contingency plans types of folks with the ribbons and the real power of the American people behind them.

The thought I may be wrong is terrifying.

16/ I'd love to hear from someone like @BeauTFC on this, but it seems fairly clear-cut to me. Superfluous mid-level functionaries in the whole mess are likely not clear on things yet, but I think some people are, including TFG, DeS, Abb...maybe Mr. P as well, others.

17/ One final point of clarity: IF the federal government a) is still loyal to the American people at the highest military levels and b) is thinking at those levels about any of this, c) a+b = they're doing their jobs and d) they'll never talk about this unless they must.

18/ Love y'all. Good luck. And if you're outside the US, you'd do well to wish us luck right now too; if this gets ugly, everyone's gonna get hurt.

19/ PS: for you folks who are new: I was raised by a US Marine and understand what I'm saying. I wouldn't be saying it out loud on twitter if I thought there was anywhere else I could and not potentially risk more trouble than I could possibly live through.
