Reminder - πͺπΉ was untouchable for almost 3 decades (meaning the US/West's best friend, no matter how destructive its policies were within the country itself!) as long as it held the noose around πͺπ· - a country whose only sin was saying #NoMore, believing: Africa for Africans...
This is why when Eritreans #SayNoMore & join the call to #DisarmTPLF they're doing so b/c every aspect of their lives was affected by TPLF's warmongering in this region & by the US/West hostility & foreign policies that aimed at suffocating our development & peaceful coexistence!
& why every peace-craving Eritrean, especially those most affected by this - those at the border, forced to give up their youth to defend the country from constant threats - will not think twice about the need to support #NoMore & #DisarmTPLF to find lasting peace for all πͺπ·πͺπΉπΈπ΄
& exactly why the US/West is supporting/guiding TPLF despite the fact that it knows (very clearly!) that the only way to end the suffering in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Ethiopia & the HoA region in general, is to #DisarmTPLF...but it only cares about hegemony & not losing its puppet!
The continued attack on πͺπ·'s right to defend itself from an aggressor - TPLF (backed by US/West), & increased calls to "deal with Asmara" is a continuation of a decades-long attempt to suffocate πͺπ· & deny its right to exist! Remember that when you #SayNoMore#NoMore#DisarmTPLF
p.s. keep in mind that Hudson, the CIA spook, once called for the *silencing* of πͺπΉπͺπ· voices who took to social media to challenge the multi-million $ disinformation campaign pushed by TPLF'ites since the start of the conflict. Apparently, organizing is reserved for liars alone!!

There's an interview with Eritrea's Pres. Isaias where he breaks down the past eight decades into four stretches of time. Understanding each stretch is crucial to appreciating the sacrifices paid, the opportunities lost, the resilience needed to endure, and the strength gained...
...although there must always be forward movement, the knowledge, experiences, and lessons gained from the past must never be forgotten and must inform and serve as guide/compass, when making any plans for the future...
It was his first interview after the signing of the Joint Declaration of Peace & Friendship between πͺπ· & πͺπΉ. He placed this new period (post 2018) in a much broader/historical context that includes the now failed hegemonic maneuvering (West through TPLF) for the Horn of Africa...
As someone who's familiar with the industrial aid complex & post-conflict reconstruction business, I sometimes cannot help but drive around Eritrea with a βwhat ifβ¦?β cloud hanging over my head. What if it was business as usual? What if we had leaders who settled for crumbs...?
βοΈ Country signs declaration of independence at breakfast.
βοΈ Country raises flag at lunch.
βοΈ Country sings national anthem at dinner.
βοΈ ...and before the break of dawn of the next day, development partners swoop in and take over the rest of the nation-building process...
What if NGOs/IOs roamed free with ridiculously high overheads & projects that have nothing to do with stakeholdersβ needs & realities? What if the GoSE had handed over the design & implementation of national development plan to external forces in exchange for stale carrots? π€
Good Morning HoA, please remember that the *narrative manufacturing* in favor of one group/country over another that you see happening today isn't new. The West has been at it for decades. The difference right now is that *so many more of us* are aware of the game & fighting it!
Right now we have one common goal - #disarmTPLF & #SayNoMore to neocolonial tools that have held us hostage, deliberately keeping our energy and focus on wars, and even more deliberately kept us from talking/listening to each other & understanding that we're in this together!
...when the dust eventually settles - and it will - we will have ample time to correct narratives, and maybe even reach out across the isle to apologize for misunderstanding each other. Right now isn't the time to argue - it's time to say #NoMore hate, war, division!!
The fact that we have people in our midst that believe there's "nothing to be outraged" by sanctions is outrageous. On moral grounds alone, what right does the US, a country that goes around the globe bombing others, killing/displacing millions, stealing trillions, have?
Plenty has been said about how #sanctionskill - directly and indirectly - no matter how "benign" the language & "targeted" the clauses are. This is said by the people on the ground & the voices/analysts/experts that mainstream media loves to ignore. Again, plenty and fact-based.
So let's just talk on moral grounds. The US of chaos & wars, of economic/political bullies & special interest groups, of homelessness & no health care, of marginalized Black/Brown people, etc etc, has no moral grounds to *suffocate* the victims of its own killing machine, TPLF.
Rolling my eyes, reading statements from different Europeans about what this summit aims to do. Not sure which one is more outrageous - one that injects a comment about "uncontrolled population growth" or one that's entirely based on how to "outcompete China". #notgood4Africa
Africa! I beg you, O! Speak in a united voice! Tell EU that investment/trade is welcome, but not in reaction to or to "control π¨π³'s spread". Remind EU'ans that their developed countries are stained w/your people's blood. It's now time for Africa to get lion's share, not crumbs!
Most importantly, stick to last week's historic statement - where you condemned "continued unilateral application & enforcement of coercive measures by certain countries as tools of political & economic pressure" & called for lifting "unilateral coercive sanctions imposed on πͺπ·"
