This provided an assist for russian propaganda to spread a new fake news: a false @NBCNews screenshot with an article that was never published: "Cyber attack on X cost Ukraine $90 million in an hour". In the fake news, the alleged source of the money is mentioned: USAID.Image
2/ The fake news was spread on X by user Peacemaker ([@]peacemaket71), the same user who had previously shared the manipulated video falsely accusing Zelensky of planning an invasion of Donbas in 2019 (Fact-check, in italian: ) open.online/2025/02/25/zel…Image
3/ Peacemaker posted the fake news on X on 11 march 2025 at 16:47 (italian time). The fake news had been published an hour earlier by the russian Telegram channel "Kot Kostyan" (Kotreal) at 15:43 (italian time).

1/ This alleged news is circulating: "Italian Prime Minister @GiorgiaMeloni has deleted all photos with @ZelenskyyUa and her tweets about Ukraine from her X account". This claim is baseless. For example, no one has provided any proof, not even a single URL of a deleted post.
2/ By tracing back the publication of these social posts, I noticed that the first to share it were pro-Russia accounts in Italy. The source of these posts came from Russian Telegram channels. Image
3/ A russian Telegram channel "belgorod_kursk_voina" (with over 1.5 million subscribers) published a post this morning (5 AM Italian time) where mentioning Giorgia Meloni and argentine leader Milei. The channel claims that the deletion occurred on all social media platforms, not just X.Image
