🚨@HouseDemocrats are proposing a 13% ATF increase to pay for:
📝"Amnesty Registration"
🖥️Gun registry upgrades
✔️Ammunition Background Checks plan
🤨Annual pay for ATF agents & family if killed or seriously injured on the job
GOA is fighting back! ⤵️
To facilitate its gun registration schemes, @ATFHQ has requested a 13% budgetary increase , including $14,400,000 to “modernize” the National Tracing Center (NTC), which is the branch that maintains, accesses, and searches ATF’s digital, searchable, gun registries
This funding, which is provided in H.R. 8256, “[i]ncreases by more than 40% the funding for the National Tracing Center.” @ATFHQ is transparent with exactly how the system will be monetized:
This data sharing technology will upgrade @ATFHQ’s gun registry just in time for President @JoeBiden's promised ban on so-called “Assault Weapons” and the ATF’s next major rule change, the Biden Pistol Ban
Indeed, the Biden Administration has begun describing its upcoming rule as an “Amnesty Registration” for pistols. Because the processing of these registration forms for millions of pistols would take nearly 80 years at its present rate, this massive ATF budget increase:
.@ATFHQ's National Tracing Center will be able to search its 920,664,765-record registry and create a list of Americans who lawfully purchased these newly banned firearms, such as AR-15 pistols.
Faced with jailtime of up to ten years & a $250,000 fine for noncompliance, the @JoeBiden will attempt to force the owners of up to 40,000,000 pistols to destroy them, turn them over to the ATF, rebuild them at their own cost, or formally register them with the federal government
To help the ATF crackdown on gun owners who do not comply with this unconstitutional gun ban, H.R. 8256 proposes “$40,000,000 for an incentivization program for extreme risk protection order laws.”
"Extreme Risk" laws are unconstitutional gun confiscation orders which are routinely used to seize firearms without constitutional due process.
The intended function of "red flags" which provide a simple mechanism for the government to disarm a citizen, is revealed in the context of the @ATFHQ’s illegal gun registry:
1st) register all firearm transactions
2nd) seize these firearms using new gun confiscation procedure
$50,000 a year is now for “humanitarian expenses incurred by or for any @ATFHQ employee thereof (or... immediate family) that results from or is incident to serious illness, serious injury, or death occurring to the employee while on official duty or business”
🤔With @JoeBiden’s plan to use an illegal gun registry to confiscate millions of lawfully purchased pistols & AR-15s from gun owners, one can only wonder why Congress is planning to offer new financial benefits to @ATFHQ agents if they are seriously injured or killed on the job
🇺🇸Gun owners will not sit idly by while our guns are registered in an unconstitutional national gun registry nor while gun confiscation laws lacking due process are federally funded.🇺🇸
For Congress to fund increases to the National Tracing Center is for Congress to become complicit with the @JoeBiden’s gambit to register or ban millions of AR-15s and other pistols.
🛑Do not help @ATFHQ misuse National Tracing Center funding to facilitate gun registration.
🛑Do not fund gun confiscation orders.
🛑Do not subsidize the Biden Administration’s attack on lawful gun owners.
Let Congress not forget that gun registration always leads to gun confiscation.
GOA’s members & supporters demand that members of Congress who support the #2A stand up to these infringements, eliminate this funding, & defend our rights

ICYMI: The lawsuit challenging @ATFHQ's permanent Form 4473 record-keeping requirement (illegal gun registry expansion) is @GunOwners challenge of @ATFHQ's "Frame or Reciever" Rule
Among other arguments, we point out that 18 U.S.C. 926(a)(3) explicitly states that @TheJusticeDept cannot implement a rule that requires (more) firearm transaction records be kept on a government facility.
A broader challenge against the entire record-keeping system is certainly needed, but Congress also bears the ultimate responsibility in eliminating the registry they helped fund.
⚠️AMMUNITION BACKGROUND CHECKS using @FBI's NICS system is to be studied in @USGAO's FY 2023 appropriations unless gun owners tell Congress "NO!"

🧵Background checks are dangerous, unconstitutional, and ineffective. Learn more⤵️
The House Report accompanying H.R. 8256 includes a GAO study on “Ammunition Background Checks.” Within one year, @USGAO office will submit a report detailing the following: (1/5)
1️⃣@USGAO to study: “[H]ow best to implement a requirement that background checks be conducted for all ammunition sales, including sales by Federal firearms licensees and private sellers;” (2/5)
🧵Gun Owners of America will be scoring any votes in favor of Steve Dettelbach’s confirmation to the role of ATF Director as anti-gun votes. Here's why ⤵️
At his confirmation hearing, Steve Dettelbach claimed that “politics can play no role in law enforcement.” However, Dettelbach’s past actions give this statement no credibility, and indeed suggest the opposite.
As a US Attorney, Dettelbach wrote an op-ed calling for gun control. At his hearing, he defended such behavior as ethical and indicated he would do it again if confirmed.
"[n]ew and pending permit applications for the permanent importation of firearms & ammunition manufactured or located in Russia will be subject to a policy of denial."
ICYMI: @Rep_Clyde & @RepTedBudd ROASTED @ATFHQ for the new "proposed rules," which are actually gun control by executive fiat
Reps. Clyde & Budd are the only Federal Firearms License holders (FFLs) in Congress! Check out their letter in defense of YOUR #SecondAmendment rights!⤵
"As federal firearm licensees turned Members of Congress, we see right through @ATFHQ's CHARADE to chip away at the #SecondAmendment & unilaterally expand its own influence and authority.
"We urge you to reverse course immediately. (1/7)
"It was Congress that defined the term 'firearm' in statute, not @ATFHQ
"But the ATF, through executive overreach, is positioning itself to blatantly usurp Congress's legislative authority by proposing broad & arbitrary definitions of industry terms[!] (2/7)
