Bexar County (Texas) Sheriff Salazar basically admitted he is investigating #FLGov Ron DeSantis for violation of Democratic policy. Not a violation of the law. This continues the trend of Democratic abuse of the levers of law enforcement. (1)

The exact quote: "At this point I'm not able to definitively say 'Here’s the statute that they broke, either federal, state or local,' but what I can tell you is that it’s wrong. Just from a human rights perspective, what was done to these folks is wrong." (2)

That's a remarkable quote. You don't have to be a first-year law student to understand that @SheriffSalazar basically hurt his investigation from the get-go. salazar must have come under tremendous political pressure to do this. (3)

The pressure is likely coming from Texas Democrats, Florida Democrats and maybe the Biden White House. Charlie Crist (D, once I, once R), the opponent of Ron DeSantis, is spreading this unfounded legal theory. (4)

Laurence Tribe is also spreading this manure, but not very aggressively. Tribe seems unaware that the Bexar County sheriff said he wasn't aware of any statute violated. (5)

I wonder if Sheriff Salazar came up under pressure from half of the Wonder Twins: U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio), who believes Trump supporters are so evil, they are worth doxxing, which he did in 2019. (6)

I hope the congressional press, like @mkraju, asks a few Texas House Democrats if they asked Salazar to look into the #MarthasVineyard flight. (7)

Remember: The Florida Legislature, incl. almost all House Democrats, voted for program that Ron DeSantis used. It's legal. It's legal to ask people if they want to take a flight to Martha's Vineyard. It's odd, on the other hand, to expect migrants to stay in border states. (8)

There have been migrant suffocations in San Antonio. (50+ died in a trailer.) Sheriff Salazar himself was already looking into three 2021 sex-abuse cases involving migrant children at one of their dubious migrant detention centers. (9)

But back to Sheriff Salazar. Texas Democratic law enforcement agencies have been rebuked before, for the prosecutions of Tom DeLay and Rick Perry, which high courts threw out. (10)

Now people like @SheriffSalazar are showing they have been watching the abuses within the @FBI and the DoJ. There have been few real punitive measures against the Russiagate abuses and partisan agents. Peter Strzok gets MSNBC airtime and has 211K followers. (11)

There is no disincentive for Democratic law enforcement agencies to get involved every time there is a political controversy. They get TV time and probably political donations (which is a good question to ask Salazar -- how much money has come in lately?) -- (12)

The most worrisome thing about this all is the infection of state and local law enforcement agencies by Democratic trends, such as DeSantis derangement syndrome and TDS. "Prosecute politics, not theft and assault." It's a huge issue in 2022 and 2024. (13)

The probity of some law enforcement units, from FBI HQ in DC, to SDNY, to Democratic AG and sheriff offices, has been deeply corroded by the antics of James Comey, Merrick Garland, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Letitia James. It's a real threat to our constitutional republic. (14)
