Alzheimers is a mostly preventable disease that affects millions.

It can start to take shape in your 30s šŸ‘€

Roughly 1% is hereditary.

That means 99% is more in your control than you think.

Here's what you can do to prevent one of the world's most intense incurable diseases: Image
There are 8 factors to know about.

1. Eat a low GL diet (glycemic load, don't worry I'll explain)
2. Eat healthy brain fats
3. Eat BVitamins
4. Eat Antioxidants
5. Eat probiotics (for healthy gut)
6. Move your body
7. Stay mentally sharp
8. Rest

So first, credibility, says who?
Research conducted by the food for the brain charity that's got a range of the world's leading scientific experts including Professor David Smith who led Oxford University Pharmacology Dept.

Download the PDF report here:

OK so, let's make it simple...
What's a "low GL diet"

Basically keeping blood glucose levels steady (type 2 diabetes doubles risk profile for alzheimers)

Essentially: eat less sugar and carbs, but swap white bread, pasta and rice etc for brown - easy win

Next up... Vitamins šŸ’Š
2. Healthy brain fats... Omega 3s and Vitamin D

Your brain is 90% fat and 60% of that is DHA omega 3, so basically it's about as important as it gets.

Unless you eat lots of oily fish or algae/seaweed regularly, you should probably supplement.

Vit D - most of us are low in...
3. B Vitamins

They're amazing for brain function and there's tons of evidence that supplementing B Vitamins with Omega 3 is hugely synergistic.

Supplements combining Omega 3s, and B Vitamins are the minimum requirement if you forget everything else.
4. Antioxidants

They reduce inflammation and protect against oxidants (bad for your brain and increasingly common as you age)

Blueberries, bilberries, and strawberries are the heroes.
#1 rated @yourheights smart supplement literally contains

āœ… DHA and EPA Omega 3s
āœ… Vitamin D
āœ… B Vitamin Complex
āœ… Antioxidants (blueberry extract)

All vegan certified, in the scientific dosages that make an impact & a sustainable B Corp.

OK, so...
5. Eat probiotics (keep a healthy gut)

This matters because its where neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine and GABA all communicate with your brain so your mood and mental health hugely rely on a healthy gut.

Take probiotics.
6. Exercise

This is nothing crazy, it just means moving regularly.

Walking between 10 and 40 minutes a day have been shown to dramatically improve the brain (better results the closer to 40 minutes you get).

Move.
7. Stay mentally sharp

"Use it or lose it" really rings true.

Learn languages, play chess, play sudoko, chat to friends, read opinions that aren't your own, commit to keeping your brain engaged regularly.
8. Rest

This is really rest, sleep and find meaning because those with high stress, anxiety and depression aka mental health issues are more prone to developing alzheimers.

So by keeping your mind healthy today, you protect your brain tomorrow.

Makes sense.

Conclusions:
My grandma died of alzheimers & it was the worst thing I've ever seen (and took about 10 years of family pain)

It's totally incurable but it is mostly preventable.

How?

Take quality vitamins
Move
Rest
Stay sharp

Its not that hard.

80% Of Startups Fail.

They built a product nobody needs.

Then they run out of cash and disappear.

Don't let this be you.

5 Lessons On How To Build A Successful Startup:
1) Your Customers

People who only say good things about your product with 0 negativity are mostly going to be your friends and family.

Not customers.

Lesson: Negative feedback hurts, but it's also constructive. Listen to it.
Your customers have a role in your company.

They're trying to achieve the promises that your product gives them.

They suffer the most when your product goes below expectations.

That's why negative feedback is also positive.

Most negotiations suck.

You often get less than what you ask for.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Here are 8 ways to be more effective in negotiating:

(And get what you want)
Negotiation is one of the best high ROI skills.

Learning them will:

- Increase your earnings (job salary, client deals)
- Save more (house or car purchases)
- Get more wins (controlling outcomes)

Here are the 8 tips:
1. Plan Ahead of Time.

If you're not planning, you're planning to fail.

Most people go into meetings thinking they know what they want and how to negotiate it.

But that mindset leads to a messy road.

To negotiate smarter, I recommend using this framework:

7 behaviours blocking you from success:
1) Expecting people to support you.

I'm not saying you should never seek help

I'm saying you shouldn't expect anything from anyone

Lesson: In the beginning, entrepreneurship is a game you start alone.

Expect nothing but treasure the surprise when support flows!
2) Looking for approval.

Everyone wants to be liked.

It feels good when we experience a dopamine rush from a liked post or a pat on the back.

However, this is subtly working against you.

Networking is cringe.

Because people do it wrong.

Their goal is to get something from someone. Not deliver value.

So here are 8 ways you can network better:

(And get what you want).
It's understandable why most people loathe networking.

If you ask for something and don't get it, you're irritated as if you're wasting time.

Networking, however, is not about you.

The focus is on connecting.
Over the last 7 years, along with many others - a side gig of mine has been entirely based around the idea of synthesizing 'compassionate connections'.

More on compassionate connections another time - let's start with baby steps.

Networking & how to do it well.

20 pieces of advice I wish I knew 20 years ago:
1) 10x more people die from side effects of medication than homicide.

2) Less than 10% of your money is in the bank.

3) Sunscreen carries a greater risk than the sun.

4) health is about how many times you prioritise your wellbeing daily, not how many times you see a Doctor
5) The dad bod is a road to chronic disease, not a badge of honour (note to self, I can do better!)

6) Porn is a fun distraction but finding love is always a better focus.

7) The greatest risk in life is not taking enough risks.

I've invested in over 50 startups.

50% of which are in under-represented & female founders.

Thirty-two are at seed/Series A stage.

Eight at Series B/C.

And one Unicorn that IPO'd (so far) šŸ™

Here are the 10 things I look for when choosing which startups to invest in:
1. Determined founders with skin in the game.

If a founder hasn't invested any of their own capital, that's a red flag šŸš©

Skin in the game = conviction.

Doesn't have to be much, has to be some - investors don't want to take all the risk - it's a journey together.
2. Traction.

A proof of concept that their product is what people want.

Some evidence = šŸ‘

This isn't always easy - and these can change, but that's why it's called an 'MVP' - minimum viable product.

You're competing with real builders out there - show what you can do.
