We have tracked 20 voter suppression cases filed since 2018 where Raffensperger has been a named defendant. Let’s go through them. democracydocket.com/cases/state/ge…
Brad Raffensperger’s refusal to help former President Donald Trump “find” 11,780 votes in the aftermath of the 2020 election does NOT make him a hero, especially as he continually defends discriminatory and suppressive voting practices in Georgia.
Georgians deserve a secretary of state who will fight to defend their right to vote, not suppress it.
🚨COURT ALERT: This morning at 10:00 am ET, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania will hold a hearing in a Republican lawsuit challenging the authority of county boards of elections to develop cure procedures for mail-in ballots.
Earlier this month, Republican groups filed a lawsuit alleging that PA county BOEs were violating state election code by implementing curing procedures. Curing is a process that allows voters to fix small mistakes on their mail-in ballots to ensure their vote is counted.
LOFGREN (D-Calif.): This bill will make it harder to convince people that they have the right to overthrow the election...This bill is about protecting the will of the American voters, which is a principle that is beyond partisanship.
CHENEY (R-Wyo.): If your aim is to prevent future efforts to steal elections, I would respectfully suggest that conservatives should support this bill.

🗣STARTING NOW: The U.S. House of Representatives begins debate to consider the new Presidential Election Reform Act, an Electoral Count Act reform bill introduced by Reps. Zoe Lofgren (D) and Liz Cheney (R).
RASKIN (D-Md.): The Electoral College as you know, Madame Speaker, is a complex and multifaceted institution. But it is clear in the wake of the debacle of January 6, 2020, that we must modernize it, update it and make it work as well as possible for as long as we have it.
🧵: Last week, a conservative legal group, Wisconsin Institute For Law and Liberty (WILL), filed a lawsuit seeking to end the use of a national voter registration form in the state. The same group has repeatedly attacked voting in Wisconsin. democracydocket.com/news-alerts/co…
WILL argues that the form fails to ask for information required by state law pertaining to a voter’s residency and whether a voter has a criminal record.
On the other hand, WILL also claims that the form requests items that are “not required by statute,” including information about a voter’s race and political party affiliation.
🚨BREAKING: Federal court upholds Michigan laws that prohibit efforts to hire transportation to take voters to the polls & help voters request absentee ballots. Voting advocates argued the laws violate the VRA & the U.S. Constitution. More info to come. democracydocket.com/cases/michigan…
Michigan's laws hinder get-out-the-vote campaigns. For example, in 2018 Uber and Lyft provided promotions to help voters in every other state to get to the polls, but Michiganders could not take part. democracydocket.com/analysis/uberi…
For decades, Michigan has prohibited hiring transportation to bring voters to the polls. A bad voting law is a bad voting law, regardless of what state enacts it and when. democracydocket.com/opinion/a-bad-…
🚨⚖️COURT ALERT: Tomorrow, the 11th Circuit will hear oral arguments on Republicans' appeal to keep 3 provisions of Florida's omnibus voter suppression law #SB90 in place and release the state from preclearance requirements.
Here's what you need to know.👇🧵
In May 2021, Florida enacted massive voter suppression law #SB90. The law:
❌Bans volunteers from giving food and water to voters
❌Restricts drop boxes
❌Undermines third-party voter registration organizations and more. democracydocket.com/news-alerts/go…
Back in March, a federal district court judge blocked three parts of #SB90 — the line-warming ban, drop box restrictions and a warning requirement for third-party voter registration organizations. democracydocket.com/news-alerts/fl…
