When Seokjin conceives the joke it feels like the greatest idea he has ever had. Yoongi gives him a dead stare once he's heard the plan and advices against it, but Seokjin doesn't listen.
He finds Jungkook on the kitchen, making a sandwich, so he sits by the table to wait for him to finish. Jungkook’s eyes light up when he looks at Seokjin, he takes an empty spot next to him and offers half of his food, but Seokjin gently declines, leaning an elbow on the table.
"If I asked, would you give me a forehead kiss?" Seokjin asks, going for casual.
Jungkook almost chokes, his eyes wide and cheeks pink after he recovers. "Um... Yes, I would" he answers, oh-so-softly. "Do... do you want one?"
Seokjin holds back laugther, thinking this is about to be the funiest thing ever, for some unknown reason. "No, not really." He waves his hand, dismissive. In his haste to throw his punchline, he misses the way Jungkook slightly deflates.
"But, you know," he continues, leaning even closer to Jungkook. "I'd rather die than give you a little kiss on the forehead..."
Theres a gasp from the door that Seokjin barely hears because Jungkook’s reaction has taken all of his atention by the neck and is threatening to kill.
Maybe when Seokjin thought of the joke he expected Jungkook to get angry, to punch his arm perhaps. He definitely didn't expect tears, and of course not the silent tears. The kind that makes you hurt when you see without knowing why. But he knows why they're there and he panics.
He jumps from his seat so fast that the chair topples backwards and falls to the floor with a loud clatter. In a second he has Jungkook trapped in a thight embrace and he presses a flurry of soft, noisy kisses on Jungkook’s forehead, his cheeks, the tip of his nose.
"I was lying! I'm a fucking liar, please don't cry!" He almost cries himself, lips pressed against Jungkook’s temple.
"I told you not to do it," Yoongi says, retreating with a cup of coffee in his hands.
Seokjin glares at him over Jungkook’s shoulder. Damn Yoongi, he's always right.
"Why would you say that? Why would you be so mean?" Jungkook sobs against Seokjin’s neck
"Because I'm stupid, very very stupid. I'm so sorry baby," Seokjin whispers, fingers tangling in Jungkook’s hair to pull him closer.
They stay like that for a while. Seokjin’s heart feels like it's about to beat out of his chest. Why didn't he listen to Yoongi?
Why did he have to hurt his precious little one with a joke that now feels like the worst idea ever?
When Jungkook’s sobbing dies down, Seokjin gently makes some space between them to cup Jungkook’s face.
He cleans the wetness from under his eyes and brings their foreheads together.
"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to make you cry," Seokjin exhales, utterly defeated. "I promise I'll never do something like this ever again. Please tell me what can I do to make it up to you?"
Jungkook puts his hands on Seokjin’s chest, eyes cast down as he seems to consider what to do next. When he looks back at Seokjin theres something deep and intense in the darkness of his eyes.
"Kiss me for real..." he brings a finger to Seokjin’s mouth before adding in a whisper "Here."
Seokjin swallows with difficulty, unsure on how to proceed. It's not like he doesn't want to do it.
Hell, he's been surpressing the urge for years already because he never thought Jungkook may feel the same way.
It's just that they've been running circles around each other for so long that he didn't really know what to make of it.
But Jungkook’s asking for it now and he's taking too fucking long to react.
He pulls Jungkook back in when he starts to lean away, and their lips meet, finally.
It's everything Seokjin’s ever dreamed about and so much more. Jungkook’s lips are the softest thing he's ever had the pleasure of putting his mouth on, and when Seokjin's tongue ventures between Jungkook’s lips he's the sweetest, so inherently Jungkook.
The best thing about it is the way Jungkook melts into the kiss, he becomes oh-so-pliant under Seokjin’s touch and he lets out little sighs into Seokjin’s mouth. Seokjin loves it. He loves Jungkook.
They're out of breath, their lips swollen and spit-slick when they part. Jungkook’s cheeks have the prettiest shade of pink dusted on them, and his eyes... his eyes hold Seokjin’s entire universe in them.
"I've wanted you to do that for so damn long!" Jungkook whimpers, wrapping his arms around Seokjin’s neck, bringing him into a hug so tight that Seokjin’s sure the beating in his chest is not just from his own heart.
Seokjin’s about to say 'me too!' when Taehyung peeks his head into the kitchen.
"Did the crying work?... oh... you weren't done. Sorry!" He screams, halfway down the hallway already.
"You were fake crying?!" Seokjin asks, incredulous.
"Surpise!" Jungkook singsongs before pulling Seokjin into another searing kiss to shut him up.

In which actor Seokjin's desperate(?) tactic to get out of a marriage scandal is to grab a random reporter who called him 'yeobo' upon arriving at the airport and throw the word right back at him.
Seokjin can't call his reaction at the airport something other than a spur of the moment decision. He was tired from the flight, from memorizing lines for his next big role,
from the dozens of mails from his manager asking for the truth and nothing but the truth about the most recent scandal the media decided to sprinkle on him.
