Not going to bother with diarrhea, except to say Ebola virus has been found in stool samples, and toilet flushing has been amply studied and proven to generate infectious aerosols.

It is possible, plausible, probable, and yes, certainly airborne via aerosols.

The problem with tying it to local measurements?

ITS NOT A MANDATE.

Public health officials are people. If you want people to engage in a protective behavior, it has to be mandated.

And public health officials, IN PARTICULAR, have lost our trust. They are only concerned with
political health.

Additionally, put the mask on, pull the mask off?

Where is the evidence people will actually re-engage in protective behaviors over and over?

Once again medical doctors meddling in a field they know very little about.

Do we require seatbelt usage when
accidents are high? Then, let them not be used when accidents are low?

Same with helmets and steel-toed boots?

NO.

Prima facie local recommendations are a bad idea.

The American people are very mobile. I live 15 minutes from a high transmission locals.

Mine is substantial.

Going to chime in with some elastomeric respirators.

You will want to stick around!

Elasto what? Elastomeric respirators are reusable respirators...can be used till the filters are hard to breathe through, then replace the filters.

In the long run?

Saving those
Nothing wrong with N95s...you can reuse them for about 40 hours, or until the straps no longer keep them tight to your face.

The elastos? Have beefier straps. Get a little loose? Tighten them up.
