Can enlightened people marry someone not enlightened?

Before my liberation I told my teacher that I want someone who has grown spiritually. She said that is your ego speaking. She was right.

The main purpose of the dark night of the soul is to show you that you are not in control and never have been. It will continue until you give up. You can only give up after you see that you cannot influence the situation. It doesn’t matter wat you do.

But I hold with the Mimamsaka idea that all knowledge has to have a PRACTICAL application - if it cannot be applied then it must be left aside - like the milk in the kshīra-sāgara upon which Viṣhṇu lies - it cannot be used on our cereal or to make cafe latte!

This means the mantra is a centering device which protects your mind from random thinking!
