Basically, Putin is saying - who are these class rulers who think they can dictate how the world works to the rest of the world?
Who agreed to these rules?
Who elected them world leaders in the first place?
Imposed sanctions by the west=the west imposing their will on the world.
The whole point of the UN is to solve intra-country differences. The problem is the UN is a shitty non-effective institution.
Because the US Dollar is dominant in the world of finance, and US controls the dollar, the US can play currency games against any country that doesn't play by US rules - in effect bypassing the UN entirely.
Putin takes exception to this.

I do not think its going to be russia to break hegemony....rather, if anything its going to be china, or a bunch of these autocrats will need to collude (aka mafia teaming up together) to attempt to break it.
US has exported its manufacturing, and in return, allowed a superpower to grow.
Now the west must figure out if it wants to pass that torch and allow this growth to continue - and a military threat - or return to an american fortress mentality.
Most ppl are under the assumption that they can get anything they want any time they want.
But the planet doesnt work like that - there are ALWAYS supply constraints - part of the issue you see now at the gas pump is limited supply meeting high demand.

I am not calling for peak oil, but I am suggesting there are limits.
There are limits on food. Fuel. Housing. Water...all around the globe.
There wont be enuf to go around at some point, then we get famine and wars.
