Difference amongst Rishi, Sadhu, Saint, Muni, Sanyasi and Yogi. Image
1. Muni (मुनि):- Muni is derived from manan (मनन्), in Sanskrit it is root verb (धातु).

Manan means to think. Muni is someone who does introspection (अन्तर्दर्शन) or who is thoughtful.

According to Srimad Bhagwadam:
Muni is expert in mental speculation or in thinking. Image
According to srimad Bhagavad Gita (2.56):
Muni is one who can agitate his mind in various ways for mental speculation without coming to a factual description.

And from where does this mental speculation come from?
Answer is Introspection (अन्तर्दर्शन).

This painting exists in the Panj-sheer Palace. It is located in the Gandhara kingdom since the time of the Mahabharata, in present-day Afghanistan. Image
The name 'Panjsheer' is an aberration of the original name 'Panch sher' meaning Five (pancha) Lions (sher). The painting and the palace were built in honour of the Five Pandava brothers.

All Asians know that Gandhara was a totally Hindu Kingdom even in the late Buddhism period.
It then fell to muslim shia sect, invaders who promptly converted it into an Islamic kingdom.

However, even they did not destroy the Hindu legacy and the royal remnants, such as this painting and many other valuable antiques depicting Hindu culture in Gandhara.

Process of performing japa.
Japa is a way to clear your mind by focusing on a holy passage or the name of a bhagwan. Instead of asking for something, you are devoting yourself to the truth of what you are saying to accept the wisdom and serenity of mind that comes with it.
You should count the repetitions of the mantra with a mala, a string of beads similar to a rosary.
