20 years inside supply chains as Sales Engineer of HVAC products for the School Systems of United States and Canada make me understand that DEMAND was never a problem, as well as the only problem was SUPPLY.

Each time we thought there was no demand, US Federal Government, US State governments, Canadian Federal Government and Canadian province governments would come up with ...........digits on computers, called DEMAND.

Every single time.

The only problem became SUPPLY.

At 0% rates suppliers kept raising their prices to us as they could not make a profit.

We tried to raise our prices and couldn't, the competition couldn't either.

So, it becomes a game of death by a thousand cuts.

I would literally follow Shanghai copper price wild gyrations and inform the President about the sudden drop or sudden hikes, so we could place the order or delay purchasing of copper piping for the next 3-6 months or for specific large projects to be delivered in 9-12 months

The ONE PROBLEM anybody was worried about was PROFIT. Nothing else.

Demand was never a problem, the only problem was the PRICE OF THE DEMAND.

Suppliers were raising the prices, justifying it that their global suppliers were raising the prices, they had to make a profit.
