Big breaking news! New documents in Taiwan archives point to the fact that #Netaji didn’t die in any plane crash.

An investigation report by the Taiwan Police Dept, unearthed by @SauravDangar clearly states that it failed to prove that #Netaji died in the plane crash. @anujdhar
Surprisingly, this report was never brought to the notice of the 3 official inquiries by the Govt of India. Another report by Taiwan’s health department done in the same year also reached similar conclusions.
Although that report was made available to GOI, it wasn’t shared with Justice Mukherjee who investigated #Netaji’s disappearance. Mukherjee found a copy in the British archives (3/n)
Recently, the Taiwan Govt invited Indian scholars to go through the files in its archives. It appears that there is more information which can be made available only if GOI asks. (4/n)
Here’s the story in @IndiaToday based on @SauravDangar’s findings indiatodayne.in/national/story…

Stray thoughts on #Gyanvapi developments
1. Destruction of property, including temples, was a routine matter in an invasion in the olden days. Temples were destroyed either to proclaim the supremacy of one religion or to destroy and subjugate a place and its people. [1/n]
2. The invasion of the Turks, Afghans and the Moghuls obviously had a religious overtone and temples/monastaries were destroyed to proclaim the supremacy of Islam. There But that is history, something that cannot be changed. That was the spirit of the age. [2/n] #Gyanvapi
3. What puzzles me is the insistence of some to not only live happily with those acts of medieval barbarism but to wage a fight to protect them. Free India is the land of confluence of all strands of human thought and faith, where each is supposed to be equal. #Gyanvapi [3/n]

When Bengali ladies stood up to the Mahatma.

The Mahatma wrote in Harijan of 31 Dec 1938:
I have a fear that the modern girl loves to be Juliet to half a dozen Romeos. She loves adventure. The modern girl dresses not to protect herself from wind, rain and sun [1/n]
@anujdhar
but to attract attention. She improves upon nature by painting herself and looking extraordinary. The non-violent way is not for such girls. Those who have not a living faith in non-violence will learn the art of ordinary self-defence and protect themselves [2/n]
The strongest protest went from Bengal. An open letter from a few Bengali ladies (published in Jugantar) took down the regressive views in the most polished but firm manner. [3/n]
