1/ Its time to have an honest discussion about the effects of increasing the validator set in #Cosmos chains.

Let's talk Centralization!

$OSMO $JUNO and $STARS holders, may find this shocking.

If you're a Cosmonaut, this is for you 🧵 Image
2/ I asked YOU if increasing the validator set led to decentralization of the ecosystem...

A resounding 68% said YES!

Many of you were thoughtful enough to comment and add to the discussion.

Let's dig into the numbers!
3/ We will focus on 2 variables:

The #Nakamoto Coefficient which is:
👉The number of nodes needed to slow down or disrupt the blockchain from operating.

Kurtosis which is:
👉The distribution of voting power of the network
4/ This is the changes over time of @osmosiszone after each validator set increase.

Notice a slight drop and then spike.

Superfluid staking was noted as it increased centralization of the network. Image
5/ Nakamoto Coefficient for @osmosiszone

👉 6 nodes
👉 46.9% $OSMO Staked Image
6/ @JunoNetwork 3 Set Increases since Genesis

When Prop 5 was passed Kurtosis of Voting power was 11

It now sits at 26. Image
7/ Nakamoto Coefficient for @JunoNetwork

👉8 nodes
👉70% $JUNO staked Image
8/ @StargazeZone 3 Set increases since Genesis

Stargaze voting power DISTRIBUTION has remained largely unchained through the validator increases since its inception. Image
9/ Nakamoto Coefficient for @StargazeZone

👉 10 Nodes
👉 40.5% $STARS staked

Decentralization has gone up while distribution ratio has remained the same. 🤯 Image
10/ Clearly the outlier here is @StargazeZone

Not only increasing its Nakamoto Index. 🔥

While maintaining the concentration of voting power. (Kurtosis)

This means, their Validator set increases did not directly impact mid tier validators.

But rather the top ones ✨🔭 Image
11/ Increases in the validator set do not directly lead to a decentralized network.

As the numbers suggest, increasing the validator set leads to a higher Kurtosis number over time.
12/ What can the ecosystems do?

Update the UI to foster education on the importance of decentralization

@TeamKujira has the right idea...
13/ Take action in the form of Proposals to foster decentralization.

Increasing the Validator set alone, fails to address the growing issue, of POS networks face.

Decentralization is the responsibility of all stakeholders.⚛️

Do you know how many $OSMO are staked currently?

👉187.3M Staked
👉30.1M Superfluid Staked

On October 29th @stride_zone will launch $stOSMO, which will free more liquidity on Osmosis. Image
With $226.6M $OSMO tokens currently staked.

An incentivized stOSMO/OSMO liquidity pool will be available on
@osmosiszone

With inflation at 44% vs. 22% Staking APR

The incentives will further welcome adoption of @stride_zone liquid staking.
With $117,192,329.77 of @osmosiszone TVL in other tokens outside $OSMO

It will be interesting to watch a shift of OSMO liquidity as the Pool gains traction.

1/25 The truth is Fortunes are created in the Bear markets not the Bull markets.

Most crypto influencers rely on a "buy the dip" mentality, this is NOT a sustainable approach.

Here's my practical guide to surviving the bear and growing your #Cosmos bag. 🧵👇
2/25 The majority of people who made LIFE changing gains in 2021 did so because...

THEY accumulated during the 2018-2020 bear market.

I'll cover:

👉How to construct a Cosmos portfolio
👉Leveraging Cosmos Defi to set yourself for success
👉Accumulation Strategies
👉Resources
3/25 Bear Markets are simply about survival and compounding.

As tempting as it may be...forget about speculating and focus on surviving.

An example of a Low Risk Portfolio:

✔40% $USDC/ $DAI/ $USDT
✔25% $ATOM
✔25% $OSMO
✔5% $JUNO
✔5% $EVMOS

1/8 Learn to ignore the noise!

$ATOM as a currency and an Ecosystem continues to grow.

Data to help you see whats REALLY going on🧵👇
2/8 Bonding Ratio continues to hold

$ATOM Stakers understand in the long term ATOM 2.0 will deliver value from the growth of the network.

.1% away from ATH bonded ratio 👀
3/8 $ATOM unbonding Volume has peaked and has been dropping.

The increase correlated to the Price appreciation $ATOM saw the last month.

This is a good sign in my opinion.

1/19 Its our great honor to announce, we will be collaborating with @OsmosisGrants and @chaos_labs .

Incentives Optimization Analytics will UPGRADE the @Omosiszone incentives program.

What is Incentives Optimization? A sustainable step to $OSMO Liquidity. A Full breakdown. 🧵👇
2/19 The incentives program is a core feature of Osmosis.

Everyday...approximately $547.9K $OSMO are distributed among Liquidity Providers, Stakers, Developers, and the Osmosis Community Pool.

45% of the $547.9K $OSMO ➡ Go to Pool Incentives 🤯
3/19 To optimize the incentives, a target metric and any constraints must be identified.

We argue that the target metric should be minimizing incentives given, the aim should be:

👉Give the minimum number of tokens required to meet the constraints

What are these Constraints?
