Abiodun Oyebanji was instrumental to the creation of Ekiti State in 1996 as he served as Secretary, Committee for the Creation of Ekiti State (1996). He was also Secretary, Ekiti State Development Fund.
Oyebanji acquired a Bachelor of Science degree at the Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) in 1989. Masters Degree (M.Sc) in Political Science, International Relations and Strategic Studies at University of Ibadan in 1992.
He was the Chairman, Governing Board, Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (June 2009 – December 2010).
Abiodun Oyebanji has served in various capacities in Ekiti State. He was Commissioner, Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Service Delivery, Ekiti State (10th January 2013 – 16th October 2014); Secretary, Ekiti State Government (16th October 2018 – 2021).
He was Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State (8th June 1999 – July 2000); Special Adviser (Parliamentary Affairs) to the Governor of Ekiti State (1st Aug. 2000 – Sept. 2001); Chief of Staff to The Governor of Ekiti State (September 2001 – May 29, 2003)
Ekiti has a GDP of $2.8billion as at 2021 which is five times the size of GDP of some African nations. To achieve its potentials, Ekiti State must autonomously design its future towards its security, hospitality, resilience, prosperity & sustainability.
The purpose of the Ekiti State Development Plan 2021-2050 is to define a strategic, tactical, operational and contingency guideline that will serve the following functions 👇👇👇
Ekiti State Development Plan 2050 would require an annual Investment estimated at $284.8m at the very minimum which is 10% of the States' GDP 2020 used as baseline. A cumulative of $8.54b Investment between now and 2050 would be required.
