Meet the New Governor of Ekiti State!

Abiodun Oyebanji was instrumental to the creation of Ekiti State in 1996 as he served as Secretary, Committee for the Creation of Ekiti State (1996). He was also Secretary, Ekiti State Development Fund.

#BAO4Ekiti He was a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) between 1993 – 1997.

Ekiti has a GDP of $2.8billion as at 2021 which is five times the size of GDP of some African nations. To achieve its potentials, Ekiti State must autonomously design its future towards its security, hospitality, resilience, prosperity & sustainability.

Good morning Your Excellency and once again congratulations on your election as APC Presidential Candidate.

However, I must confess to you sir that this is going to be toughest campaign you will ever face and here are my reasons. I'm a member of APC. A loyal party member but I'm someone who is a realist and who has vowed to speak truth to the power regardless of my party affiliations.

You will recall in 2015 sir that our party campaigned on 3 major points namely;

1. Insecurity
2. Economy
3. Corruption

There are two types of consensus. Let me explain this in a short thread with examples.

The first one is when a Governor endorse an aspirant. Where we have more than one aspirant, the Governor can consult and appeal to them to step down for his preferred aspirant. If the Governor was able to convince them and they agree to his terms, what you will see on the day of primary is just AFFIRMATION.

For instance Senator Sani and Dattijo in Kaduna.

1. Ekiti Master Plan:

For years, Ekiti seems not to have any DEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN. If we do, I'm sure they are outdated. The current administration is working on one. For sake of continuity and sustainability, he promised to review it and harmonise with his own. Fair enough.

In the last few days, Mr @Olayinkalere has been spreading one news about @ekitistategov selling the Ekiti House at Asokoro Abuja.

As usual, the news has been spreading like fire & my Egbon @leespanyol just put it on his TL.

First, it is nothing but Fake news.

However, Egbon Lere is known for fake news and most of our people can easily buy this news.

The onus is on people like us to find out the truth and set the record straight.

Apparently, we ain't government. Going by my little findings from the "agbagbas" in respect of the Obas Vs Ekiti state government, I think the Governor might need to apply some wisdom.

From my findings, these "Pelupelu Obas" are the direct descendants of Oduduwa and they include:
1. Owa Obokun of Ijesha
2. Alaye of Efon Alaye
3. Owa Oye of Okemesi
4. Alara of Aramoko

Aregbe had lost his popularity in the 2nd term. APC had already been divided. Oyetola wasn't that popular.

PDP had one single job to do. Put your house in order and get a credible candidate that can appeal to the conscience of the people.

No, they brought Michael Jackson. I'm not saying Osun election was perfect but hey, PDP could have won that election with a more serious and credible candidate hands down plus putting their house in order.

How many serious minded folks in Osun will even vote for Michael Jackson.

The issue of tractor has been one of the major issues confronting farmers in Ekiti. As i speak with you sir, the Ministry of Agriculture has just one tractor. The others are as good as dead.
How can farmers rely on one tractor sir? For me to access this one tractor, i have been on the queue for weeks. Even when i had to pay 12,000 per hectare excluding money for Diesel and feeding for the tractor Operator.

How many small holders farmer can bear this sir?

I am aware that the Ekiti state govt have started collecting 100naira per day from Okada riders and other commercial vehicles with the aim of boosting our IGR.

Good. However, with the current template, half of the money will go into private purse. I took my time to interract with some Okada riders to actually analyse their opinions sir @kfayemi

While i discovered that most of the bikes i took have been collecting the tickets, it was obvious some of their colleagues have developed the gimmick of beating the system.

How?

In Ekiti, primary school teachers and LG workers just received November 2017 salary.

3. Dilapidated infrastructures in Primary and secondary schools, hospitals
4. Dead Ikogosi

Seriously, huge task.

Killings in Zamfara has no meaning to us again. Bandits killing human beings like animals.

You wonder if there is any presence of government or security architecture in the state. Bandits will come, slaughtered people and still stole their cows.

After few weeks, we will have reprisal attacks and the vicious cycle continue.
