Some background: Billy James Hargis was a popular radio and TV evangelist in the 1950s and 1960s.
He used the fame of his "Christian Crusade" ministry to start the American Christian College in Tulsa in 1971.
Sounds almost Trumpian, right?
Immediately he began having sex with his students—four of them male, one of them female.
He then performed the wedding ceremony for two of them.
At which point, "The bride and groom realized what was going on because they’d both slept with him."
Hargis, who was married and the father of three daughters and a son, had sex with the three other male students during tours of the college choir, which was called "The All-American Kids." #RepublicanSexualPredators
Hargis represented, "one of the more vigorously anti-intellectual strains of midcentury conservative Christianity, he hated communism, he hated sex education, and he hated queers (he wasn’t much fond of Black civil rights either, shockingly)...."
"... His organization published a notorious 1968 pamphlet... 'Is the Schoolhouse the Proper Place to Teach Raw Sex?'"
When exposed for having sex with his male students, Hargis “justified his homosexual acts by citing the Old Testament friendship between David and Jonathan.”
As @whitstrub wrote in 2013: "This is perhaps the single most radically relativist reading of the Good Book I have ever seen a fundamentalist offer... It deserves to be highlighted as a reminder of the sheer, utter perversity of antigay discourse, then, now, and always."
It's easy to say there are predators on both sides.
But as @cajsa, keeper of the #RepublicanSexualPredators list told me: "I see more pedophiles on the right... the worst predators are drawn to... authoritarian ideology... rules and rigidity."
Why won't @GOPChairwoman speak out against the pedophiles in her party? How many more is she protecting?
Ruben Verastigui told his child porn chat group: “I can’t stop thinking about touching, raping, and killing a newborn baby, been hard all morning.”
Even after he was SENTENCED to 151 months in federal prison, his former boss @GOPChairwoman CONTINUED using the pic he took of her.
#RubenVerastigui pleaded guilty to having 162 videos and more than 50 images of child pornography on his phone, admitting that he called material depicting the sexual abuse of babies his “absolute favorite” in a signed statement accompanying his plea. lawandcrime.com/crime/ex-gop-a…
Part of Luke Bowen’s job at @TXRightToLife was to defend Texas’ controversial SB8 law that argues rapists and incest perpetrators should be allowed to choose the mothers of their children.
He was arrested & charged with soliciting sex from a minor online.
Liz Cheney: "We have received new and voluminous documentation from the Secret Service," plus new evidence of attempts to obstruct the investigation. #January6thCommitteeHearings
Liz Cheney: "The central cause of #January6th was one man: Donald Trump."
Liz Cheney: Because he spent two months helping Trump promote dangerous lies, in the full knowledge that he had no evidence to back up his claims, "Rudy Giuliani's license to pratice law has now been suspended." #January6thCommitteeHearings
In August, Luke Bowen, political director of @TXRightToLife was charged with soliciting sex from a minor online.

This is Donald Trump posing with his close friend George Nader who sold access to the Trump White House and is now serving 10 years in federal prison for transporting a 14-year-old to America for sex. #Groomers#GangOfPedophiles
This is Donald Trump posing with GOP operative Anton Lazzaro of Minneapolis, who in August 2021 was arrested and indicted on federal sex trafficking charges for allegedly recruiting six minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts. He is currently awaiting trial.
This is former Trump campaign aide Ruben Verastigui who bragged about his access to the Trump White House on social media while telling his online child porn group: “I can’t stop thinking about touching, raping, and killing a newborn baby, been hard all morning.”
When a Utah school district decided 52 award-winning books they hadn't even read "lacked literary merit," @jonfreadom and @PENamerica sounded the alarm... and authors, activists, parents--and students--rose up in protest.
When I interviewed him in Feb., @jonfreadom told me it's not even a good idea to ban The Bible just because of all it teaches kids about slavery, adultery, homosexuality, incest, murder & bestiality thedailyedge.substack.com/p/bonfire-of-t…#Freadom
"Books haven’t really gone on trial for #obscenity since landmark 20th-century cases determined that... James Joyce’s Ulysses, and... Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer, could not be banned."
