Shaykh #Badrudin al-Hassani [الشيخ بدر الدين الحسني] was a major Hadith scholar of Syria [1850-1935 CE].
One day, he sent his student with a bag of coins to the prostitutes in Damascus with this message:

إن الشيخ يعطيكن هذه الهدايا ويسألكنّ الدعاء!!

It is reported that the prostitutes started crying, feeling #ashamed ...

People just used and abused them to fulfil their carnal desires.
The #Shaykh humbled himself to be lower than them, which made them feel #valuable.

They no longer felt #worthless.
This gesture of the Shaykh made them #realise their human worth and that their supplications will be heard and answered by #God!
They picked up their bags, #repented and left those streets forever.
The Prophet said:
