Last night we shared our thoughts on an "article" (attempted hit job) for @opendemocracy scribbled by @AdamRamsay. Written following a lobbyists playbook on how to slip legislation in under the radar. And tonight? Well tonight it seems we need to look towards @scottishgreens 1/
Let's consider the people inolved/quoted in the article:
Author, Adam Ramsay, member of Scottish Greens ✔️ 2/
Maggie Chapman, Green MSP, quoted, was Secretary of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre when Mridul Wadwha was appointed, using a Sch 9 exception that specified the role was for a female (considering the nature of work). As you can see above, Maggie is godparent to Adam's child. ✔️3/
Mridul Wadwha is a biological male who has no UK paperwork that changes any aspect of his legal sex. They stood as a SNP candidate (all "woman" shortlist 👀) failed. Mridul applied to Forth Valley Rape Crisis for a job. Forgot to mention they were male 4/
Mridul ticked boxes for woke SNP glitterati so promotion was inevitable, to Edinburgh Rape Crisis CEO, despite it being specifically advertised for a female. Women don't care less about MW's gender identity, they hate being gaslit though. 5/ thescottishsun.co.uk/news/scottish-…
While that's bad enough (& fact ERCC will not provide a female-only service on any day to mainly female trauma victims) Mridul needed to lecture women on the "bigoted" view they need a male-free space to recover, telling them to "reframe their trauma" 6/ thecritic.co.uk/reframe-your-t…
Anyway, Mridul didn't succeed in their goal of becoming a SNP candidate, so left for the Greens where they were welcomed with open arms, and defended by her ex deputy at ERCC, Maggie ✔️ 7/ heraldscotland.com/politics/19511…
Then we come to Beth Douglas, co-covenor of Scotland's Rainbow Greens (not mentioned in the article). Beth is a tran-identifying male that uses the same abusive terminology as the Denton Report to refer to women that refuse to stop saying no. ✔️ 8/
So, it looks very much to us that this article is not just based in misogyny & absence of facts (like Edinburgh Rape Crisis not closing, women have not threatened anyone) but @scottishgreens also have their fingers in the Denton pie. Really not a good look, is it @SP_EHRCJ? 9/
There will be a vote of all Scottish MSPs on Oct 27th, to decide of the Gender Recognition Reform Bill will proceed to Stage 2. It feels very much like Scottish Greens are trying to influence the vote in advance using @openDemocracy to do their dirty work. forwomen.scot/08/10/2022/gen…
Nov 2019 a document appears called "Only adults? Good practices in legal gender recognition for youth", authored by multiple orgs, prepared by Dentons:"the biggest law firm in the world when it merged with Dacheng in China & McKenna Long & Aldridge in US to create a behemoth" 1/
The document was reported by legal blog Roll On Friday
"Only adults? Good practices in legal gender recognition for youth advises campaigners to be secretive about the changes they are lobbying to put into law". We see you #Mermaids, @lgbtys@ScotGovFM 2/ rollonfriday.com/news-content/d…
& Spectator "Based on contributions of trans groups from around the world (incl. 2 in UK, 1 of which is not named), it collects & shares 'best practice' in 'lobbying' to change the law so that parents no longer have say on their child’s legal gender" 3/ spectator.co.uk/article/the-do…
Ross, the Scottish Conservative leader, said Rowling, a prominent Labour supporter, had his party’s support. He tweeted: “She is spot on about Nicola Sturgeon. We fully support JK Rowling on the need to protect women’s rights.”
Patrick Harvie, Scottish Green co-leader & junior minister, insisted Rowling’s fears were groundless.
“I think she’s wrong,” “The new proposal is simply a simpler & less stressful & traumatic way of achieving the administrative change, which is a gender recognition certificate.
8.25am today Nicola Sturgeon told Radio 4 that as long as a man "lives as a woman" for 3 months he can acquire a certificate that says he's now a woman. Trouble is no-one knows what "living as a woman means" which means proving attempts are for nefarious reasons is impossible 1/
Our "feminist to her fingertips" FM also seems to believe that males are the risk to females but when a male acquires a magical certificate the risk goes away. Sticking the word "trans" in front of someone's sex seems to perform a biological miracle & no-one must question it. 2/
This is why women gathered in their hundreds outside Holyrood yesterday @scotgovfm. You are putting women at risk, lying to them about the consequences of your Gender Recognition Reform Bill. You, Madam, are a Non-Feminist #WomenWontWheesht
"50% of transgender inmates in Scottish prisons began transitioning AFTER they were convicted. There were 16 trans inmates, of whom 8 began their transition while “being cared for in custody following their remand or conviction for their current offence”" thetimes.co.uk/article/half-o…
Almost as if...claiming you have a "gender identity" different to that of your birth sex might be seen as route to an easier remand/sentence, get into a female prison when you're male, get closer to more victims? No-one could have foreseen that, apart from the uppity women.
"Number of transgender prisoners in Scottish jails increased by 4 to 16 in last quarter, with figures showing there were 11 trans women (males) in custody at end of June:
Before everyone goes back to school/work tomorrow, we have some homework for you. Look at this image and tell us what you make of it, and what you'd think school pupils might make of it. 1/ #SaveOurSchools#Genderbread
Hands up if you get a very strong whiff of unscientific gender woo from it, with their coy suggestion that sex may not just be female or male or there is such a thing as "woman-ness" (I wonder if we'd pass?) and "man-ness". 2/
This nonsensical little trope is used to teach pupils about the difference between sex & whatever gender identity/expression is. So proud of it, some of our independent Scottish schools are boasting about its use 3/ @macmorrisons@Kilgraston@esmsedinburgh genderbread.org/resource/gende…
This article is about a Scottish high school in Dunfermline, teachers helping to socially transition pupils on the quiet, parents seeming to encourage, rather than manage, their children's confusion. This school won't be unique, unfortunately 1/ thetimes.co.uk/article/teache…
The tone of the article is calm, neutral, despite reporting an ideological contagion spreading through our schools, supported by guidance from the Scottish Government. Don't tell the parents, reinforce the child's anxiety and confusion. We should all be really VERY annoyed.
