1. It's been almost 6 hrs since I watched #Kantara and "Varaha roopam.." is still playing in my head in a loop. As someone who thinks he is decent with words,I can still barely find d words to capture d experience that is #Kantara. So I am just going to say what comes naturally.
2. First, kudos and thanks to Team @shetty_rishab for creating this deeply moving experience which has touched people across the world overcoming language & cultural barriers. You have showcased the local with such conviction & affection, and gone global in the process, rightly so.
3. What a powerful way to begin and end the movie with! Rendered by Ajneesh Loknath & Sai Vignesh, Varaha Roopam is a masterpiece in Carnatic fusion with the nadaswaram capturing the tone of the film & its setting to perfection. Listen to this beauty -
4. Kambala (cattle race),ownership of forests, the sacred relationship between Guardian Deities & nature, faith in Devaprashna, challenging the State's interference with bursting of firecrackers on auspicious occasions- these are multiple layers contained in the film.
5. The sacred nature of the relationship between Nature and pre-colonial societies (which I touched upon in #IndiaThatisBharat) has been brilliantly conveyed through the visual medium without loss of nuance. Truly, art's ability to pithily capture a thousand words is unmatched.
6. The deeply religious & spiritual roots of what are crudely dubbed "folk arts" such as Bhootha Aradhane/Bhootha Kola have presented with such reverence, intensity & conviction that d audience was left spellbound in the last 40 minutes of the movie. Absolute paisa vasool moments!
7. The importance of and the logic behind treating places of natural beauty as Kshetras with their own Kshetrapalas, the sacred symbiotic and sustainable relationship this creates between humans, nature and non-humans couldn't have been depicted better on the big screen.
8. These are much needed and timely lessons for eco-sensitive regions in Bharat which have traditionally called Devabhoomis. I genuinely hope Kantara is watched in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and all other States where development is making deep inroads.
9. The movie ends on a mature note with a relationship of respect & co-operation being evolved communities and d State. This highlights the need for d State to be more cognizant of local traditions on the one hand, and the countervailing duty on the society to work with the State.
10. The performance of the cast, in particular the energetic presence of @shetty_rishab, the rapid fire quips and repartees, and the building of the tempo towards the jaw-dropping crescendo, make this movie a near complete package.
11. This was my first experience of watching a Kannada movie with English subtitles in Karnataka on the big screen. And as someone who doesn't speak Kannada and understands only a smattering of it thanks to my Bhagyanagari Tamilian background, I absolutely loved it.
12. Even if you don't Kannada, please try to watch it in Kannada with English subtitles and ONLY in cinema halls. OTT cannot do justice to this movie. Such movies underscore the continued relevance of the big screen. So please watch it before it makes it to an OTT platform.
13. And Bollywood - you have a lot to learn and a long way to go before you can present Bharatiya Sanskriti with such conviction. As long as you keep churning out bilge for the consumption of the woke and SoBo crowds, you will continue to fail resoundingly and deservedly.
15. Finally,in this interview of mine on September 25th to Navneet Vyasan of News 18 Showsha,I had shared the view that we are going to witness a glorious tussle between wokes and Bharatiyas in the realm of cinema. Grab some popcorn, the game's on-

18. Sitting in Court I can still hear Varaha Roopam in my head (especially the majestic nadaswaram), and its imagery playing right in front of eyes. I find myself constantly moving to the song and silently mouthing the lyrics. That's the #Kantara impact.

1. This was a discussion held in June 2024 in the backdrop of the relaunch of @VamseeJuluri garu's book Rearming Hinduism. When I said "Savarkar on the lips, Gandhi in the spine & Marx in the soul" describes the current state of affairs, it angered a few.
2. During Op. Sindoor,I vocally supported the Govt for its response to the Pahalgam massacre. The usual suspects brought up my "Savarkar on the lips.." statement to supposedly make the point that finally I had fallen in line. I let it go. And here we are with the #UGCRegulations.
3. The trolls ignored that my "Savarkar on the lips.." statement was directed, not at our foreign policy, but the handling of issues within. My point was just this- the success of the Left was that the Non-Left was implementing Marxist/Periyarist agenda under the rubric of Reform.

1. Watch #Dhurandhar on the big screen.I watched it today & came away thoroughly impressed at the finesse & execution of @AdityaDharFilms. With a brilliant cast where none is dispensable,a tightly written script & a scintillating background score, 214 minutes isnt long enough.
2. Highlights of the content- The candid depiction of the geopolitical challenges Bharat is faced with, the civilizational conflict at the heart of it,the fifth columnists within Bharat who aid the enemy, and the difficult terrain that patriots have to navigate to protect Bharat.
3. The cast- @ActorMadhavan, Akshaye Khanna, @bolbedibol, @RanveerOfficial, @duttsanjay, @rampalarjun are obviously the standouts. Of these,Akshaye Khanna, @RanveerOfficial & @bolbedibol are absolutely brilliant. However, Akshaye Khanna dominates every scene he is in & how!

1. Trust the Pakistanis to make a pigsty even out of the @OxfordUnion. And as always, they are genetically incapable of being truthful. So here's the complete story of how this so-called debate played out.
2. The President of the @OxfordUnion is Moosa Harraj. Subject to correction, I am informed that he is the son of Muhammad Raza Hayat Hiraj, the Minister of Defense Production for Pakistan. The Treasurer of the @OxfordUnion is Raza Nazar, also a Pakistani. So you get the picture.
@OxfordUnion 3. On July 7, 2025, I received an invitation from the @OxfordUnion on behalf of Moosa Harraj to take part in a debate on the topic "The House Believes That India’s Response to Pakistan is a Populist Strategy Sold as Security Policy". Image

1. In the first half of last year, I had the occasion to visit the Bay Area for the Stanford SIPEC event in March and the Tiecon event in May. After both events, in each of the public engagements and private interactions I said exactly the same thing. But to no avail.
2. What i got to hear from the Bay Area elites went something like this- "We run the American tech and fin sectors. We are loved. We are in no danger".In stark contrast, people working on the ground risking their lives and jobs had a different view. They could see trouble brewing.
3. The middle layer, comprised of the work-a-day individuals who keep to themselves largely and celebrate their culture quietly, were keen to listen and understand the way forward despite the genuine limitations they operate within. Net result- lack of coherence and cohesion.

1.Unfortunate engagement farming by @barandbench.As a Senior Advocate, even if the briefing counsel or translator makes an error,it is my duty to tender an apology on their behalf without pointing fingers in Court. After all,a Senior Advocate doesn't file or translate documents.
2. If @barandbench wanted to present the complete picture,it should have reported that this was a murder case in which bail had been granted to one of the accused by the Uttarakhand High Court. I appeared for the brother of the dead boy in the SC challenging the grant of bail.
@barandbench 3. Importantly, despite the initial minor hiccup with respect to a few typos in the translated documents, the Supreme Court issued notice in the Petition to the Investigating Officer and has directed his presence on the next date of hearing. In other words, the hearing went well.

1. This is an appreciation thread for @rahulroushan and @UnSubtleDesi for launching @hinduphobia_tr,a much-needed documentation portal that catalogues atrocities against Hindus in as rigorous a manner as possible, something that only @UnSubtleDesi could have put together.
2.I have known Nupur for close to 9 years now. She's one of my dearest friends whose passion to work for the cause of Dharma is brilliantly complemented by her ability to commit herself to solid work. Not many are aware of the price she has personally paid for her Dharmic work.
3. She was forced to leave Mamata's Bengal after the 2021 post-poll violence & her best work, according to me,has come *after* that traumatic experience. The brilliant reportage of the Delhi Riots case, preparation of the dossier on Wikipedia, & now the launch of @hinduphobia_tr
