a political spy thriller of this level in the Star Wars universe with maybe the best world-building I have ever seen, top-notch acting and character development, incredible writing (yes in Star Wars!), and just an air-tight script and insane production values...
& people want constant laser swords & super kid sidekicks, even though there are hundreds of hours of that stuff readily available. Above all else, we have a real empire, not toned down to sell toys, really fucking scary and dangerous assholes...
Not just the top dogs with the super weapons, but every stormtrooper (not bumbling fodder to get a PG-13 rating) or tie fighter can and will end you without thinking twice. They don't care. It's a horrible racist regime that is at its peak of power perversion...
And their biggest threat is their own self-importance and obsession with TPS reports, regulation and endless bureaucracy that is backed by a sick culture that pits their own people against each other. This show is so fucking good. So well thought out...

And that is why I am so stunned more are not talking about it and many in the 'fandom' seem so dismissive of it. If you fall asleep during THIS and you are a Star Wars fan, man the attention span must be just toe deep.
Compare that with Obi Wan (missed opportunity of galactic proportions/horrible production, direction) & Book of Boba (generally terrible). This is in a different galaxy! It fits great with Mando too, feeds a different hunger, and that's what's so cool about a huge franchise!
Anyway, this show is great whether you think Star Wars is crap or you live for it. Watch it, enjoy it. Talk about it.
