NEW: GOP #cogov candidate @heidiganahl's stand against an imagined CDC vaccine mandate for children (there isn't one) is drawing praise from @PamLongCO, an anti-vaccine advocate and writer for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s anti-vax publication The Defender.
Long, who previously led Colorado Health Choices Alliance, which opposes vaccine requirements, urged the Ganahl campaign this AM to come out against a CDC mandate. Ganahl's campaign manager, @AsaDyer2, sent Long a Ganahl statement suggesting a coming CDC mandate.
The CDC is not requiring children to get the COVID vaccine to attend schools, despite claims to the contrary in conservative media. 9news.com/article/news/v…
Long is a vocal supporter of the Ganahl campaign. Last year, Long was the source of a viral, but unsupported, claim that Denver airport workers went on strike to defeat a mask mandate. DIA said the claim was false and Long declined to provide evidence. 9news.com/article/news/l…

Caraveo and Kirkmeyer strongly disagree on abortion access. Caraveo supported Colorado's no-restrictions law. Kirkmeyer used to oppose all abortions and now says she would only make an exception for the life of the mother.
One of Colorado's largest polluters, the Suncor refinery, is in the district. The candidates discussed the impact on Coloradans living nearby.

@IntlHearingDog Katie, who is hard of hearing, told the non-profit that her hearing loss left her feeling isolated and anxious. She asked to be paired with a hearing dog "to feel safe and confident enough to re-engage in life. To simply enjoy life more fully."
@IntlHearingDog Wanda told the non-profit that her hearing dog gave her back her independence and feeling of safety. "I don’t have to depend on others to let me know what is going on in my environment," she said.

@ODeaForColorado A review of O'Dea Google Ads history, which is publicly available, does not support the campaign's claim. A single O'Dea ad was pulled from Google in June. The O'Dea campaign declined to say which policy violation was alleged and whether Google's decision was appealed.
@ODeaForColorado Such notices are common and quickly resolved. The notices can be a result of something as simple as a spelling error or formatting issue with the ad. According to Google, O’Dea’s advertising accounts have had a small number of violations, mostly due to formatting issues.

@DaveYoungCO (D) and @LangSias (R) began today's debate with a disagreement about whether the Treasurer can impact inflation in Colorado. #copolitics
Young explained why he previously tried to end TABOR refunds but embraced them this year. Sias said he'd prefer higher income taxpayers got larger refunds but said he wasn't opposed to the flat refund approach Democrats took this year.
Both Young and Sias are passionate about education issues, which are not under the direct control of the State Treasurer. They offered their visions of how Colorado should improve K-12 education.

Today, @heidiganahl confirmed to KNUS host @GeorgeBrauchler that her campaign is collecting and distributing photos of children they believe are identifying as animals. “We provided pictures but we blurred out the faces,” Ganahl said.
It’s unclear how the Ganahl campaign is confirming that the individual children in the photos they are distributing identify as animals (as opposed to simply dressing up in cat ears or other type of animal costumes).
