On October 19, 2022, @ZahraYusufi spoke at a meeting of ambassadors in New York about women’s rights in Afghanistan. She asked these ambassadors to recognize the situation in Afghanistan as #GenderApartheid and to use that term. gov.uk/government/spe…
On October 20, 2022, @ZahraYusufi spoke again, this time to the whole UN Security Council. After she spoke, dozens of countries made remarks, most of them discussing Afghanistan. Canada @jacqui_oneill referenced @ZahraYusufi’s remarks and used the term #GenderApartheid.
