Unfortunately, the trauma of missing persons in Cyprus has been used as a weapon by the Greek Cypriot administration to attack Türkiye and their legal intervention of 1974. It is important we reveal the true facts ⬇️
The majority of Greek Cypriots that are missing and presumed dead are a direct result of the Greek invasion of Cyprus that occurred on the 15th July 1974. The bulk of the missing persons figure is due to event thats took place before Türkiye even intervened…
US Ambassador Nelson Ledsky @USAmbCy@USEmbassyCyprus stated in 1991 that most of the Greek Cypriots that were killed, died as a result of Greek Cypriot in-fighting between supporters of Makarios and Sampson.
Greek Cypriot newspaper, TA NEA, reported that the Greek Cypriot administration removed the dates of Greek Cypriots killed between the 15th-20th July in order to blame their deaths on Türkiye…
In 1996 @cyprusmail reported that the Greek Cypriot administration have admitted that there are people already buried who have been reported as “missing” in order to further blame Türkiye for all casualties during the conflict.
George Lanitis from the Cyprus Weekly also revealed how not only journalists were fooled, but even the families victims were fooled. Their their loved ones had been killed by Greek Cypriot in-fighting rather than the Turkish intervention.
The Cyprus Missing Persons Committee currently state that 775 Greek Cypriots and 200 Turkish Cypriots are still missing. We thank the CMP for all their work. We hope the families of those who are still missing can soon find peace 🙏

The Bloody Christmas massacres were carried out during this time on purpose.
The Greek Cypriot leadership hoped that because it was Christmas, foreign reporters would not be present to record the mass killings of Turkish Cypriots.
In August 2022 @RishiSunak left a bitter taste in the mouths of Turkish Cypriots as his anti-Turkish letter to the so-called “Conservative Friends of Cyprus” was released to the public.
In his letter, Sunak revealed his very misinformed and narrow minded view on the Cyprus issue. It was filled with historical falsehoods regarding the events of 1974 and a lack of awareness surrounding current issues such as Varosha and the drilling within the EEZ’s.
@BTCAOfficial The British Turkish Cypriot Association responded to @RishiSunak letter immediately after. However, the new Prime Minister never replied. Unfortunately this suggests his anti-Turkish views on the Cyprus issue are true…
