#IStandWithAmyHamm
Listening to @preta_6's hearing and so far Greta Bauer's testimony contains so many contradictions, it's hard to know where to begin. She calls @jk_rowling "transphobic" but when pressed says "I can't say whether she hates anyone because hate is an emotion." >
She says "no one says sex isn't real" but won't admit that womanhood is a biological reality. She talks about male violence but if sex is real and trans identified males are real, why no empathy for women? >
She admitted in previous testimony that sex and gender identity are different categories but is repeatedly conflating sex with gender. Plus Lawyer Barbara Findlay frames everything in terms of male and female. The whole line of questioning is a dog's breakfast of illogic. >
Now she's denying that there's any evidence of men dressing as women to enter women's spaces to harm women. Outright lie. #KeepPrisonsSingleSex >
She denies that there are any safety issues with male-bodied athletes competing with women and girls. Another outright lie. #SaveWomensSports >
She says "transphobia" includes "making fun of people". Comedians, take note. (Oh, most have taken note already.) So @rickygervais and @DaveChappelle, take note. Now my question: does misogyny include making fun of people? Fair is fair. Every drag queen on Earth, take note. >
She explains "gender dysphoria" as an "intense discomfort" as to how one is treated with regards to their gender. Oh, like how women experience misogyny, I wonder?
Now they're taking lunch break for one hour. More Greta Bauer testimony then...
>
Back from lunch. Barbara Findlay, counsel for BCCNM, is asking to have all of Amy's witnesses disqualified.
Now BF is asking Greta Bauer about how trans people would feel about Amy's activities (GIDYVR, caWsbar, etc.). I wonder: how can GB speak on behalf of all trans people? >
Amy's quote from an int'vw read out: "Effeminate men should be protected. Gender identity muddies the waters." Bauer: "Wrong to call trans women men." Findlay: "What about washrooms?" Bauer: "Cdn washrooms have always been based on gender." No, they've always been based on sex. >
Findlay reads out @coachblade's credentials and asks Bauer: "Is she an expert?" Amy's counsel Lisa Bildy objects: "That's a Q for the panel, not Bauer." Findlay: "Bauer is in the business of assessing work of others". Bildy: "Entirely unfair." Findlay reframes... >
Findlay asks instead about content of Blade's written submissions: "Is gender identity being prioritized in women's sports, as Blade wrote?" Bauer's non sequitur: "Recent discussions have focused on hormones." >
Now Findlay turns to the written submission of @Mason134211f. She's focusing on Mason's data re: incarcerated women locked up with trans identified males. Bauer: "Can't verify the data." Note: Mason is forced to collect data herself because GovCan won't release it. >
Findlay: "How would you design study on risk of TIMs to women in prison?" Bauer: "First, define unacceptable risk. Then privacy issues need to be considered. Then gather data on carceral settings. Control for bias. Very lengthy process. Try to find resources to do it." >
Findlay: "Any studies that meet the standards that you've outlined?" Bauer: "Yes, for TransPulse but small sample size so we didn't submit." I wonder: just because there aren't tons of rapists in women's prisons, is it okay to disregard the women who *are* locked in with them? >
Now Bauer is talking about findings from TransPulse prison study. Reports formerly incarcerated TIM's perspective of "not feeling safe in women's prison" based entirely on their self-reporting. I wonder: oh, really? How do you think the women felt? >
Now Findlay turns to expert witness @Docstockk. Reads out lengthy CV, and statement about the fiction of gender identity, the troubling erasure of sex in law and public policy, and the harassment she endured due to her views. >
Findlay: "Do you agree with Stock that binary biological sex is established and robust?" Bauer: "No." Findlay: "Are male and female identities socially significant?" Bauer: "Yes." >
Findlay refers to mothers as "the set of people who deliver children." (Me: you mean OB/GYNs and midwives? 🙄) Bauer: "We shouldn't force gender neutral language on mothers, as it is a meaningful identity." >
Now Findlay turns to the CV of Dr. Miriam Grossman. Bauer: "I don't see evidence of expertise on trans health." (NB: Grossman has been working with gender-confused kids since 2006.) Findlay tries to discredit by showing Grossman hasn't done anything funded by gender industry. 🙄>
Findlay reads out Grossman's written submission that sex is dimorphic. Bauer: "Sexual dimorphism isn't about gametes. It's about secondary sex characteristics and hormone levels." 😱 Bwahahaha! >
Bauer now trying to get around sexual dimorphism by talking about Disorders of Sex Development: "There's a general truth to sexual dimorphism but it's not always true." (Again, people with DSDs being used in the service of gender ideology.) >
Bauer tries to get around sexual dimorphism by talking about ambiguous genitalia at birth and starts picking apart "sex is determined at conception" statement to imply that sex is not determined at conception. >
Bauer implies a bone marrow recipient could change sex. 😱 Then tries to use overlapping bell curves to imply sex is a spectrum. Talks about height of females versus males as an example. >
Bauer: "Most of us are never karyotyped so we wouldn't know if we had a DSD." (Very scientific. 😂) >
Bauer: "Grossman's statement that there's no third sex or no spectrum of sex leaves out the multi-dimensionality of sex. It's not two neat boxes. And it's not a linear continuum." (So, sex is 3D chess?) >
Bauer again uses "intersex" and use of hormones/ surgery to develop secondary sex characteristics to refute sexual dimorphism. "The genes aren't this all-powerful thing. They can be triggered by hormones." This end today's testimony. Hearing reconvenes tomorrow at 10am Pacific. /

The BCCNM disciplinary hearing of @preta_6 continues with Barbara Findlay's questioning of Greta Bauer.
Findlay opens with a Q re: Dr. Miriam Grossman's written submission regarding female reproduction. Findlay: "Can trans men breastfeed?" Bauer: "Yes." >
Findlay asks about gender fluidity: "Is there an open-ended number of gender identities?" Bauer: "It's not an infinite number. But people have individual ways of expressing gender." >
Findlay continues interrogating Dr. Grossman's written submission. Findlay: "Is sex distinct from gender?" Bauer: "Yes." Now turning to Grossman's comments on Dr. John Money, inventor of "gender identity" and the case of Bruce Reimer. >
