Court in recess until tomorrow morning in OH v. #GeorgeWagnerIV. Hearing set for 8:30 a.m. EST on the media order an Jake Wagner and other witnesses objecting to being broadcast @LawCrimeNetwork
Angie Canepa questioned Jake about GW4's relationship with Tabitha Claytor, when they were married, when she left and the circumstances ie - Angela saying "I'm going to go get my gun." @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said the night Tabitha left, she was "in a state". Doesn't mean to be offensive but when women get in an emotional state they start slapping with both hands. @LawCrimeNetwork
Went through a lot about Tabitha's relationship, q's about custody of Bulvine. Then onto May 2017 trip to Alaska. Before that, he'd had contact with a couple of BCI agents. Stefan and Ryan Scheiderer. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he had been to Alaska in 2006 or 2007 and always wanted to go back. While in Alaska in May 2017 looking for a job, he learned BCI was searching Peterson Rd. He said he wasn't nervous. He was upset. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he was not concerned about BCI finding certain items. The family all agreed on an alibi. They were watching a movie. Jake said Billy said "Don't fall for their games." @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said they never discussed what to say to BCI. They came through Canada from Alaska to Montana and were "interrogated." They then took Sophia and Bulvine to the hospital b/c they said BCI agents gave them "sleepy Kool-Aid medicine." Test results negative @LawCrimeNetwork
All Wagners agreed BCI had probably bugged their vehicle or vehicles. Jake said it sounds familiar that there had been concern that Tabitha had been at the border but not sure. Back in AK, learned in June 2017 BCI was back at Peterson Rd. with heavy equipment. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he thinks he asked about what barn was being searched. Which one they were digging in - not behind. @LawCrimeNetwork
Recalls a press release from BCI in June 2017 when they asked for info about the Wagners and them buying or selling vehicles and firearms. Remembers going to church in AK and meeting Elizabeth/Beth Anne @LawCrimeNetwork
Elizabeth and Sophia got along in the beginning. Marriage was pushed up b/c they were moving back to the lower 48. Planned to work and live in Missouri but loan for farm fell through. Decided to go back to Ohio. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he knew Elizabeth had been. molested by two of her brothers. He said he told her he did not want those two knowing where they lived. Didn't indicate he meant her whole family - as Elizabeth had stated. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said family was concerned about media attention. In Ohio, Jake and GW4 got job driving for R&L Carriers. May 2018. Jake said Angela and GW4 got upset b/c they didn't feel Jake should force Sophia to call Elizabeth "mom." Different from what we were told @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said GW4 and Angela did not express concern about how Sophia calling Elizabeth mom would impact Bulvine. Angie Canepa said in opening they were concerned about that - Bulvine feeling slighted. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he is not aware of Elizabeth/Beth Anne being accused of poisoning kids or stealing. He said when he was away, Sophia slept with Angela and Bulvine. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said Angela told him Beth Anne had allegedly touched Sophia. He said he covertly asked her questions about it for a few weeks and told AW not to have Sophia out of her line of sight with Beth Anne. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he and Angela confronted Beth Anne in the kitchen of the South Webster home and she denied it. JW said it was serious accusation and he was concerned about sensitivity of it. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake is asked whether he told Beth Anne what he would do to her if she had molested Sophia. Jake said he did not tell her what he would do to her. "I told her specifically what I would do to anyone I caught molesting my daughter." @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he told her anyone he caught in the act of molesting his daughter, he would "physically beat the person to death with my bare hands." This differs from Beth Anne's account. She said Jake told her if he found out it was true @LawCrimeNetwork
He would string her up in the barn and heat her to death with Lucille the bat from "The Walking Dead" and if he didn't do it, Angela would do it, and if she didn't, Billy would do it and if not him then GW4 would do it and bulldoze barn and kill her family @LawCrimeNetwork
Beth Anne called a pastor in AK and told him what Jake said. Jake also spoke to pastor and told him what he said. He said they were practically on a mutual agreement of where each other stood. Pastor said he shouldn't jump to conclusions and @LawCrimeNetwork
should see if Sophia was telling the truth. Jake said he prayed for 2-3 weeks and Sophia told him she felt Beth Anne was stealing her daddy and she just wanted her to go away. It's unclear whether Sophia ever made the allegation or if Angela just did @LawCrimeNetwork
MORNING BREAK IN OH v. #GeorgeWagnerIV. Angie Canepa took Jake Wagner back to 4:30-is A.M. on April 22, 2016. Jake says they pulled the truck into the new barn and took off all of their clothes, floor mats, ski masks, shoes, etc. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake said he went in the house in his boxers and got "redressed." Put clothes, shoes, victims' cell phones into an old food trough to burn. Used a grinder to cut up the 3 guns and then partially destroyed with a torch. @LawCrimeNetwork
Put gun parts in a duffle bag and buried in a post hole in the new barn. The stalls weren't yet built at that point. Before Billy Wagner left with the truck, Jake said he and "my brother" lifted the false bed out of the truck and disassembled it. @LawCrimeNetwork
Some things I forgot from today but worth mentioning: a few people saw in the courtroom that during a sidebar Jake mouthed to the Rhoden family "I'm sorry." I didn't see this but people I trust told me they saw it and someone confirmed with Rhoden family @LawCrimeNetwork
Also, during the afternoon session after lunch, Jake was given a pointer to show locations to jurors in an aerial photo of Union Hill Rd. and a diagram of Dana Rhoden's home. He awkwardly tried to hold the pointer (cont)
while handcuffed to a leather belt. No one could hear him so he tried to move the microphone as well and dutifully pointed to certain areas. It was kind of awkward. I would think they could take the cuffs off for that as long as he wears a stun device @LawCrimeNetwork
Court just ended for the afternoon in OH v. #GeorgeWagnerIV. Since lunch, Jake Wagner talked about his family buying a signal jammer to jam cell and radio signals. "I think it was dad's idea." Prevents people from calling 911 @LawCrimeNetwork
There wasn't a silencer for Billy's 40 Glock, Jake says. Tested it at Peterson Rd. to see how loud it would be. He says his mom, Angela, signed Hanna May's name to the guardianship documents. He said he and GW4 signed their names (cont) @LawCrimeNetwork
in case they died carrying out the homicides. That way, if they died, their mom would get custody of their children, Sophia an Bulvine. They modified the bed of the GMC truck that Jake bought to make a false bed @LawCrimeNetwork
Lunch break in OH v. #GeorgeWagnerIV as Jake Wagner, who opted OUT, testifies against his brother. Jake is wearing a tan jail shirt marked INMATE on the back and blue plans. Shacked at wrists and ankles. @LawCrimeNetwork
Jake sits at the stand. Looks at his brother, GW4. I am sitting behind George so I can't tell whether George looked back or not. But, Jake has looked him several times. Sometimes George's head is down @LawCrimeNetwork
Angie Canepa asks him how long he's been incarcerated. He says nearly 4 years. He describes how the family intentionally burned down buildings at the Bethel Hill Rd. property where they'd lived for 20 years. @LawCrimeNetwork
Here's the lowdown of what happened in #JohnnyDepp v. #AmberHeard today: the hearing started with Elaine Bredehoft asking about a briefing schedule for post-trial/post verdict motions. Judge Azcarate said something to the effect of @LawCrimeNetwork
"We don't do that" and mentioned that EB has been practicing there for 20 years. EB wanted to schedule hearings. Judge Azcarate said "I've had this case for 18 months and we had a 6-week trial. We don't need a hearing." EB said "Your Honor can decide on the papers"
Judge A said, "absolutely." EB said something about the post-trial motion being ministerial. Judge A said "this judgement is final today... I'm putting final on the order." @LawCrimeNetwork
Wow. Pat Reilly, attorney for #GabbyPetito's parents says, "By the way, the only reason Steven Bertolino (Laundrie family attorney) isn't a defendant in this case is because he's not a resident of Florida." @LawCrimeNetwork
Reilly says the Laundries acted as if they were sympathetic to #GabbyPetito being missing when they knew she was in fact dead at the hands of their son, #BrianLaundrie@LawCrimeNetwork
@LawCrimeNetwork Pat Reilly has 5 minutes left in his argument. He says he's not holding it against #BrianLaundrie's family that they hired Steven Bertolino to rep them. He says it's circumstantial evidence they knew BL had killed #GabbyPetito. @LawCrimeNetwork
